CAUTION: GM has not ramped up production on the Volt yet, so these numbers are meaningless. I talked to a product engineer supplying Volt parts this morning and he said they were running like 100/week, which is in line with these numbers.

Hate to say it (I am no fan of the Dolt), but they are talking about doubling annual volumes from their original plan. They would not be planning that way without some good indication that it willl be a success. And that was before the oil price surge.

You'll see how pitifully short the range turns out to be.

As cool as it would be (I'm an engineer, not a tree hugger) to have the first all-electric car on the block, my neighbors would be laughing their arses off at me as I pushed the damned thing home.
