They should have just voted the collective bargaining portion in a separate bill 2 wks. ago.

Thanks for all the pings, Diana. I appreciate your efforts to keep me up to speed on all that’s happening in our fine state.

Never sick of your pings! But I’m getting mightily sick of all the shenanigans!! On the up side, there are going to be some vacancies. Lots of people are retiring. Not all of them will be replaced, but some will HAVE to be replaced to keep the state in business.

Diana, I have it on very good authority that the recall efforts against the Republican senators in Wisconsin is being orchestrated by the Obama operatives. There have been out-of-state Obama people here for at least one week if not two or three and they have been instrumental organizing the local recall efforts. This is rumor, but probably pretty close to accurate, that they are pouring 30 million dollars into the recall effort against the GOP.
I know this is the wrong thread, but it was the only thread that I saw about Wisconsin at the sidebar.

If there’s no way to defeat the unions on this issue, the Wisconsin GOP needs to start having a lot of press conferences with charts showing the salaries and benefits of the teachers who survive the coming layoffs.

I wish Wisconsin parents would pull their kids out of the public schools en masse.

State needs to make laws to bid out school districts to private contractors.

Just like a lot of things the military does. Your new airplane comes from the “lowest” bidder.

Just another epic fail of the GOP. Walker had a historic opportunity he could have channeled Reagan here...but he just let himself be manipulated.

Whatever he does nothing will change nothing.

Ridiculous...just like the GOP cutting 61 billion...that is 17 days of deficit spending out of 365...

Bottom line: nothing has changed...

Thugs have taken over the government. Stop paying taxes until sane citizens reclaim the government.

Isn't this exactly what the voters of Wisconsin are trying to do? They did take back their government on Nov 2, but libtards are having none of that and are attempting to nullify that last election through angry mobs in the capitol. The same thing will be upon us if conservatives can pull this off on Nov 6 2012 nationally - get ready for race riots and full scale CW II. The lefty liberals have gained a strangle hold of the national Government with little boy king Barry, prince Harry, and princess Nancy taking over in 2008. THE LIBERALS ARE NOT GOING TO LET LOOSE WITHOUT PUTTING UP A NASTY FIGHT. SOME OF THE NASTINESS WE ARE SEEING NOW IS A RESULT OF THE REVOLT AGAINST PRINCESS NANCY ON NOV 2. Every single conservative needs to comprehend this fully and be prepared for the ensuing war. This thug administration and their Senate is the most complete takeover since FDR days and they are not about to reverse course, now that they see they lost the House.

RINOS are a whole other matter and they will be working to assist their brethren "across the aisle" to perpetuate huge Government.

The State should be under no obligation to “cover” local contract obligations. If they over extend, then “OH WELL” their problem. NO Bailouts.

"I...don't know. What...could he do? What would you tell him?"

"To shrug."

I’d like to see a list of how much money the unions are making exactly... and what they are contributing to the democratic senators...

I would move out of WisCONsin so fast it would make a union pirate's head spin.

There's going to be blood over this garbage.

As I heard today...the government and the unions are at the table...but the taxpayers aren’t.

In fact, the taxpayers aren’t even in the room.

I wish Wisconsin parents would pull their kids out of the public schools en masse.

That would require the parents to 'give up' quite a bit. Let's say you are in a 2 parent family and have three kids.

Both of you work.

Now.... this public sector/union issue comes up, and to stop it, you must deal with 3 hungry mouths at home to feed ALL DAY LONG, and you must provide them with quality education.

At least one of you is going to have to QUIT YOUR JOB. More expenses, less income. You may also have to hire an 'educator', unless you happen to be skilled enough to provide a complete curriculum tailored for the age and skill level of each child. (I would bet that %90 of parents who think they can 'teach' their children, would fail miserably)

If you were those parents, would you do this?
