You are right about Palin...it all started with supporting McCain, etc...

She had me at hello but now I am gone for good.

Shame I actually thought she could have made a huge difference for us but as time passes her progressive tendencies keep showing...

What do you disagree with in the following?

“Common sense & decency absent as wacko ‘church’ allowed hate msgs spewed@ soldiers’ funerals but we can’t invoke God’s name in public square,”

If Sarah is against free speech in this case, many of us are “against” it. If she is playing some of cryptic rhetorical game rather than taking a specific position on that issue, she is equally open to criticism.

Can you piont out exactly what you disagree with from the following?

“Common sense & decency absent as wacko ‘church’ allowed hate msgs spewed@ soldiers’ funerals but we can’t invoke God’s name in public square,”

She had me at hello but now I am gone for good.

What a ludicrous post.

You followed Palin, but then she pointed to inconsistent actions by the SC and now you're burning her in effigy. Yes, I totally believe that.

We're not going for Romney or Trump or whichever liberal squish you've set your heart on.

As a Sarah Palin follower I am dismayed that she took this approach.
If people thought this through instead of following their “feelings” They would understand that other “feelings” will lead to more and more laws against free speech.
It can be legislated to keep these scums from attending funerals of our soldiers. Time for some legislation about parameters around services?

Everyone who thinks the SC was right in this case is a wimp.

Palin is right.

The left has a double standard.

They always get their way, right or wrong.

All the right does is acquiesce.

Enough.

Stop bending and hairsplitting and pretending it is principle.

It is cowardice.

Stand up and fight back.

The a$$holes on the other side don't care about principles.

We need to get ugly, and now, with these commies.

I clearly explained that in my post. Do you not understand the 1st amendment? (Must not) The separation of Church and State and the Right to Free Speech are not even closely related.

Except “Fire” in a crowded theater. You Yanks want to do your best to keep your First Amendment rights.

Location is everything, Yell fire stand on a street corner, that’s fine, in a crowded theater, not so much.
Stand on a street corner with a sign that says Thank god for dead soldiers…. Fine, outside the funeral of a fallen soldier, not so much.
The SC were cowards… they could have protected free speech, and the families of fallen soldiers….
Alito was correct.

I’m guessing that Sarah’s comment didn’t come off exactly how she meant it but it completely validate that point I’ve made several times. She doesn’t have the ability to clearly articulate her position on complex issues. The first time she does this in a debate or in a hostile environment (someplace other that FoxNews of her Twitter page) she will be completely taken apart.

This is the second Supreme Court decision that Sarah has disagreed with for purely emotional reasons. The closer it comes time to get serious, the more she's losing her luster -- for me, anyways.

I was a big Palin fan. When she made her first speech (in Hong Kong, I believe) after quitting the governorship, I really thought she was on her way. She's gotten off-track. A presidential candidate must defend freedom of speech.

I think she’s actually ripping this:

“we can’t invoke God’s name in public square”

I was a firm backer of sarah, but this leaves me with little room to maneuver....this is a first amendment issue, the supremes got it right, however distasteful this so called “church” is.....if I disagree with her over something as fundamental as the first amendment, I can no longer back her

How is protesting a soldier's funeral "political speech" exactly? How does such an act protect the public from government overeach?

That is my point also, she is injecting herself into areas that she is not clear on herself. She can make all sorts of
claims to her captive Twitter and Face Book audience, but that does not make her an analytical authority.

“The SCOTUS decision tells me that I get to say anything, anywhere, any time.”

Perhaps. These protests ARE almost approaching the “yelling FIRE in a crowded theater” level.

Will be interesting to see what happens to some kid that invokes a prayer at some graduation ceremony this Spring. I think that is what Palin was going after - the discrepency in what is considered “free speech”.
