Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin won the Townhall.com Republican Straw Poll for February reflecting the opinion of hundreds of thousands of conservative voters on Townhall.com and HotAir.com. Second place belonged to Ron Paul with 15 percent and third place went to Mitt Romney with 11 percent.
Townhall/HotAir, the leading conservative online network owned by Salem Communications (NASDAQ: SALM), released the February results of the Townhall Republican Straw Poll Monday. With hundreds of thousands of Townhall.com and HotAir.com readers registering their votes, the results foreshadow the battle for the Republican nomination over the next several months.
Despite no official candidates running yet, conservative voters are obviously beginning to develop favorites already in the field of possible choices.

18% Sarah Palin
15% Ron Paul
11% Mitt Romney
10% Newt Gringrich
8% Mike Huckabee
7% Chris Christie
6% Herman Cain
Full straw poll results and coverage of the 2012 Republican primary can be found on Townhall.com’s Tipsheet. Each month, until the nominee is determined, Townhall.com will reset the straw poll and announce the results of the preceding month to its two million email subscribers, the news media and through its print magazine, Townhall Magazine.

That's an understatement. There are thousands of news articles each day reminding us that Palin is unqualified and that she's not newsworthy, including 9212 stories in the past day: "Results 1 – 10 of about 9,212 from Feb 28 to Mar 1 for Palin". I'm surprised that anyone still bothers to discuss her after Katie Couric told us that we're better off with Romney - and we all know that Katie only has our best interests at heart.

Well, this is nice, but the straw polls don’t really mean much. Whoever happens to get the most supporters at that particular function is the one who wins. Often doesn’t reflect what would happen in an actual election.
In Iowa a McClatchy focus group has determined she is unelectable! (Similar to results with most MSM/DNC/DU polls.)
Perhaps we should read the graffiti on the wall and nominate someone who can WIN!
