It would be sad, but I can foresee a situation in the near future where the United States will pull all its troops back inside our borders just to defend them from the outside world.....especially an unstable Mexico that most people are ignoring.

There was a movie a few years ago, Babylon A.D., that had a scenario like that as the backdrop.

It would be feasible for the US to tell SK and Japan that NK is their baby now--it's a different world than it was in 1953--our troops don't need to be there, although our naval power is still needed to keep the sea lanes and international waters open to all.

Phasing out all our troops along the DMZ and deploying them along our own southern border would improve our own national security 100%.
