Three startling new charges related to Project Gunwalker, gun monitoring operations by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) gone awry, are being reported by Mike Vanderboegh at the Sipsey Street Irregulars blog, two involving the bureaus regional management in Arizona, and the third reaching into the highest level at the State Department.
Citing new posts at CleanUpATF.org, a website created by bureau insiders to expose corruptions, abuse, waste and fraud, the new allegations include:
* The accusation that ATF management approved paying the gun dealer who allowed straw purchases to proceed as a Confidential Informant. * That a second gunwalker operation was being conducted out of Tucson, where walking several hundred rifles to Mexicofirearms that are even now being used in crimeswas allowed.
In a related development, Vanderboegh reports:
My sources say that the State Department signed off on Gunwalker stiffing the Mexicans.
If they did, the incentive to keep that under wraps becomes obvious. If they did not, so do the very serious implications for foreign policy. Either way, like it or not, this is an international incident and State is involved, all the way to the top.

The CBS News report on Gunwalker last night was terrific.
Several hundred guns isn’t a sting operation.
Hillary’s arming somebody for something.
I’ve got a feeling we’re real close to finding out why.
Yup, if the State Dept. is in on it it’s not just a PR stunt for the BATF.
Several hundred guns is the very minimum. Several sources are saying it is much closer to 3,000 guns.
If BC had lost the election, the Clinton’s had no intention of leaving the WH.
Everyone and their neighbor has been duped into believing Zippo is the dangerous one in this crowd.
He's not, he's Hillary's puppet.
Hillary's getting her fat ass in that WH, and she wants absolute power.
That’s the one, the direct link to the Gunwalker story on CBS.
Well, this story is getting some big play.
About dang time.
That's the truth. Even my more politically active, gun savvy acquaintances (with the exception of one) said they had never heard of this story. Hopefully the word will spread more now that mainstream news media have reported on it.
This is kinda like a domestic version of Gulf of Tonkin /Wag the Dog.
