Sarah Palin: Here’s to Libya’s Freedom
Sarah Palin Facebook ^ | Tuesday February 22, 2011 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 02/22/2011 7:14:50 PM PST by Bigtigermike

It’s a little perplexing looking at the White House today. There was a statement on the horrible earthquake in New Zealand, and certainly our hearts go out to all those affected by this horrible natural disaster. But nothing on the slaughter in Libya? The protests in many places in the Middle East affect regimes that have cooperated with the U.S. on issues from peace with Israel, fighting al Qaeda, hosting our military forces, or cooperating against Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Gaddafi’s Libya is different. For four decades, this tyrant has held power. Gaddafi was Osama before Osama hit the scene. He ordered the bombing of a disco in Germany to kill Americans. When he paid the price for that – after President Reagan rightly ordered retaliation – he directed his agents to blow up Pan Am Flight 103. They did, and more than 250 innocent people died. Gaddafi tried to come in from the cold in 2003 – scared by the demonstration effect of Iraq. But we should have no illusions. Gaddafi is a brutal killer and Libya – not to mention the world – would be better off if he were out of power. Now is the time to speak out. Speak out for the long-suffering Libyan people. Speak out for the victims of Gaddafi’s terror. NATO and our allies should look at establishing a no-fly zone so Libyan air forces cannot continue slaughtering the Libyan people. We should not be afraid of freedom, especially when it comes to people suffering under a brutal enemy of America. Here’s to freedom from Gaddafi for the people of Libya.

No surprise here. Again, Palin has to show Obama how to act presidential by supporting the people of a rebellion against a long-oppressive regime. That support sure as hell won’t be coming from The Marxist any time soon.

Not since the Kmerh Rouge has any government been so cruel murdering its citizens, and Obama has not a word to say about it.

This shows in spades what sort of cold blooded pan-Leninist he is.

Did I miss something or has Obama been unusually quiet over the uprisings in Libya?

Where’s Mr. Tough talk on Ghadaffi’s threats to kill his opponents and destroy oil pipelines???

With Thune dropping out, Huckabee running out of money, Romney unpopular among the base, and Daniels shooting himself in the foot, I really believe the stars are aligning for Governor Palin. There’s a part of me that thinks that the other GOP contenders are playing Kabuki theater for the media and will inevitably clear the way for Palin to run unopposed.

I was rewatched that Long Island Association Q&A...she was scary good and she said recently that if she ran she was going to have a conservation with America, if what she did last Friday is a inkling of what is coming then the Republicans and Obama have to be very very afraid!!

Obama was busy “having fun” at some small business BS break out sessions. Yes, he said it was so much fun they would have to do it again.

Libya?, we don't know anything about some stinking Libya...

The protests in many places in the Middle East affect regimes that have cooperated with the U.S.

This is the reason Gov. Palin was understated about Egypt and resolute about Libya.

When it comes to Libya, neither side is worthy of our accolades. Yes the guy is a brutal anti-US tyrant. He was also an isolated buffoon, grinding out his time on this planet in relative obscurity.

Is the Iranian model being implemented in Libya, and tied at the hip with other states that are also tied at the hip with Iran going to be better for America, Europe, and the planet in general?

HELL NO!

In situations like this, it is best to keep one’s yap shut and let the locals destroy each other in relative silence. This does not end well. Congratulating anyone at this point is only going to provide the powder to blow up in your face later on.

Someone once said, “Silence is bliss.” In this instance, they would have been a sage.

For once, Obama is doing the right thing. What does Saint Sarah think we can accomplish by getting stuck in that mess?

Don't know about you, but I'm not sure what the outcome is going to be in the Middle East. I get the feeling that it won't be good.

The instability alone provides the perfect opportunity for the radical mullah types to take control.

These folks might be trading one tyranny for another. Just look at Egypt now. Iran has already accessed the Suez Canal and the MB has established a political party.

Gaddafi is an enemy of the U.S. its allies and is responsible for the killing of U.S. citizens not including supporting mayhem in other Africa countries. Here Sarah is talking about the freedom from Gaddafi, not necessarily supporting the people who could want a Islamic republic for all we know...

I’m sure if Obama knew that Libya was really going the Muslim brotherhood way like Egypt then he would have jumped on the bandwagon really quick! LOL! (it’s a joke)

How is it going to look for her, when a popular Imam just happens to show up that is tied at the hip with radical Islamicists, and that person is tapped to form the next government of Libya?

Should she at that point re-affirm her congratulations to the people who brought it about?

You should realize that some admonitions are for her own good. I stand nothing to gain by her protecting herself against future criticism.

How would you have liked it if she had congratulated the youth who topped the Shah’s government in Iran, forgetting about the hostage aspect of it for this discussion?

That’s what we’re looking at in Libya.

And... they have that wildly popular Imam that thinks Israel should not exist, and that the West is evil incarnate. This guy could very well be the follow on for Mubarak. Some freedom then...
