Deportation raises questions for Grassley gun investigation(gunwalker)

“Three illegal aliens will not face charges in connection with the murder of U.S. Border Patrol agent, Brian Terry,” KOLD CBS News 13 reports, citing a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Phoenix:

"Based upon an extensive investigation conducted to date, there is no evidence tying these three individuals to the shooting of Border Patrol (BP) Agent Brian Terry. The goal of the ongoing FBI-lead Joint Investigation into that shooting is to achieve justice for BP Agent Terry, and bring criminal charges against those responsible for this murder. We continue to devote significant resources and manpower to this investigation. This investigation is extremely active and progressing."

Meaning Jesus Soria-Ruiz, Jose Angel-Camacho and Francisco Rosario Camacho-Alameda will be deported to Mexico after pleading guilty to illegal entry.

Bob Price of Texas GOP Vote asks a good question:

Generally, when a person is involved in the commission of a felony, and someone else dies as a result of actions of someone within the group, is that person not usually charged with the death of the person who died?

That is curious. Especially in the absence of information about who decided the Mexican nationals are not accessories (or even material witnesses), and how that was determined. After all, whether they were complicit to the shooting or not, they were illegally present at the scene of a crime in which a law enforcement officer was killed.

No?

Price then asks another question that anyone following the unfolding “Project Gunwalker” story might also wonder about:

Are these suspects, now convicts, being expedited out of the country to avoid their testimony about these guns?

It might be useful for Senator Grassley to question these three individuals before they are released back to Mexico.

Since these men had previously been deported, they are now up on felony charges for entering the country illegally after being previously deported. Deporting them again means they serve no time and pay no fine. How soon before they are back? How many of us would be let off with no penalty for committing a felony especially when a murder is involved?
