On Face the Nation this morning John McCain also applauded Obama’s handling of the Egypt crisis.

I’m almost convinced we are living in an alternative universe. Clearly these “leaders” don’t understand how to fight. Unfortunately the opposition understand all to well how to fight dirty.

Here’s the problem with Boehner (aside from being a weak cry baby) and the rest of the old guard Republicans like the Bush family, Trent Lott, Mike Huckabee, and just about every Republican out there aside from Palin, the Paul family, and the other Tea Party Republicans. They get on TV, dance around questions (even easy ones) which make them appear as if they are hiding something, and act as if they are ashamed of the conservative principles they were elected upon. This interview was horrible and I look forward to some of the newly elected Tea Partiers to get on TV and boldly tell it like it is.

I agree that it was a very difficult situation, but that doesn't mean it was handled well. I mean objectively, first saying nothing, then claiming Mubarak isn't a dictator, then supporting the street protests and throwing Mubarak overboard, then sending an envoy who says Mubarak should stay, then firing that envoy, then saying the Muslim Brotherhood is secular and should play a governing role, then claiming prematurely that Mubarak is stepping down, then, confused and chastened by the Saudis and Israel, obtusely musing about watching history in the making.

The administration limped through the episode, any higher praise seems to me to be woefully undeserved.
