Idiots.You can call something whatever you like even change the name but you will never change what poeple know it as or cll it.For example a few years ago a “group” wated to change the name of a major street that runs through town from state street to MLK Dr. the buisnesses raised holy cain because it would cost too much so they decided just to rename the little brige on the street MLK bridge....yep now you have state street bridge errr MLK bridge on State street.So if you call it what it was renamed no one knows what you are talking about....

We have a bayou here that was named by the Spanish, called Negro Bayou, because the water was dark from the tannin from leaves. It is now called Black’s Bayou......

3,075 feet? That's not a mountain, that's a hill. My house sits 2,000 feet higher than that and there are mountains towering thousands of feet above that.
Arizona did this a few years back with Phoenix’s Squaw Peak.
They changed the name to Piestewa Peak in honor of Lori Piestewa, who died during a wrong turn ambush in Iraq.
Mountains? Those aren’t mountains, they are lumps of displaced earth by western standards.
