DALLAS They are the critical care safety nets for North Texas: Parkland, Baylor, Methodist and Presbyterian Dallas. So, during Wednesdays rolling outages, why was the power cut to these vital hospitals?
Jorie Klein runs disaster management for Parkland Hospital, and is still upset that her hospital was included in the rotating outages. We were not happy, she said. You cant just go down for 15 minutes and come back up. It really does disrupt hospital care.
We are sorry this happened. We are in a process of refining our processes, so in the unlikely event of future mandates for rotating outages, hospitals will be excluded, said Oncor spokeswoman Catherine Cuellar.
Klein said that all of the elective surgeries the hospital had set for Thursday are being re-scheduled. Parkland Hospital officials will continue to evaluate the situation...
The glories of wind energy.
I think you were asking about this....
Rush spoke of this earlier today. Another story MSM is ignoring.
After the power came back on we made 23 calls...all but 3 were automatic alarms due to the power turning off alarm systems then back on.
The dirty secret is that this pulls emergency crews down so low that people in dire emergencies dont get service for over an hour. Like the golden hour....
They do have backup generators at hospitals do they not?
Could this electric power situation be in any way connected to Texas’ recent defiance of the EPA?
The football stadium was given an exemption from the mandatory rolling black-outs...
Sure hope the generator maintainance tech has been doing his routines tests of the backup generator.

Sorry!
Is an angry hospital worse than an angry SUV?

Did the EPA cause the Texas blackouts?
How would they do that?
MSN isn't the only ones...
I moved from out of state and have lived in Dallas three years.
I love TX but the electricity here is pricey and a mess.....
I doubt it. The state didn't have enough juice to handle the load. This is due in large part to the fact that the sierra club, the democrat party, and the epa have had their way with getting more and more windpower going in Texas, rather than build new coal-fired power plants.
I’ll have to see why Texas is out of power.
They had enough surplus power in 2001 to supply California during their blackouts.
Well, "Jorie" sure doesn't seem too happy.....
Just don't ask me if Jorie is a male or female....
