...

At a news conference in Paris, he accused Ahmadinejad of plundering Iran and vowed to start implementing his destabilisation plan, without giving any details of it.

"In the next 12 months, there will be action taken to destabilise the energy sector, which has been plundered by Ahmadinejad and his entourage for personal profit and to finance terrorist groups overseas," Jahanshahi said.

"I take responsibility for everything that will happen in the energy sector, but I can't say more."

He said his movement did not need help from external forces.

Jahanshahi has now been joined by a group known as the "Circle of the People" led by Mohammad Reza Madhi, a former general in the Revolutionary Guard, also at the news conference. Madhi said that he had once headed a committee tasked with keeping the regime in place and that now, as an opponent, he could count on about 20,000 backers in Iran's Revolutionary Guard, army, intelligence services and the religious hierarchy.

He said he left Iran in February 2008 and stayed in contact with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei until the 2009 elections.

"I realised then that the regime would not evolve," he said. "(I joined the Green Wave) because no other organisation has the capacity to link the internal opposition with the overseas elements," he said, speaking through an interpreter.

Hmmm... Let’s tell the Iranians that someone is going to destabilize their energy production capabilities.

Did this come from the NY Slimes?

Maybe to lead to another revolt?

Two green wave leaders hanged in Iran

Tehran (AsiaNews) – The Iranian regime continues to eliminate leading figures from the 2009 social protest movement, known as the “green wave”, causing few ripples across the world. The authorities confirmed that this morning two political activists, Jafar Kazemi and Mohammad Ali Hajaghaei, were hanged, the Tehran prosecutor's office announced. They had been arrested during the demonstrations against President Ahmadinejad’s re-election. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had urged Iranian authorities to show clemency but to no avail.

I think this group is real and serious.

It appears they believe the Iranian government is to strong to fall from a revolt. There would just be another bloodbath like 2009. They plan on crippling them first via their source of income. It’ll be interesting to see what they have in mind.

I think you’re onto something here.

This is a new way of thinking of revolution -— in some ways. The French Resistance sabotaged many things within France. And, of course, American revolutionaries took action to destabilize British rule in the colonies.

But, still, in our lifetime, most efforts to change regimes have centered on street protests.

We shall see.

I disagree with you on this one.

Assuming this statement was made as reported, I think it’s a brillant tactic to tell the state ahead of time that, hey, when this stuff starts going down, LOOK OVER YOUR SHOULDER: IT’s US.

>>>”This is a new way of thinking of revolution”<<<

Exactly. They already know how brutal the regime can be should there be another public protest. They need to think “outside the box” for effective tactics & counter-strategies to weaken the regime. Besides, the regime will not survive if IRGC refused to support them.

Btw, since Tunisia & Egypt crisis, Persian press (mostly Persian language) outside Iran is continuing to report that the regime has intensified its hanging/execution of Iranians in Iran. Obviously, the regime is very anxious & wants to instil further fear inside Iran.
