Having been on the rescue team for nuclear projects, this is not uncommon.

The fact that a former wife is taking messages is telling. He may have been distracted in his personal life.

Masoud Bajestani

Why not give folks like that control over nuclear material. Nothing could possibly go wrong, could it?

Is his name more likely to be from a Persian language nation or an Arabic language nation?

There is a comment to the article that is very interesting:

“Bajestani was terminated from his position. Reports indicate he withdrew $1.5 million dollars from his TVA retirement account and sent a large portion of the withdrawal to a relative in Tehran, Iran for an alleged investment.

The TVA will intentionally attempt to mislead citizens in initial press reports of any incident, ie Widows Creek, Al. coal ash spill, the Kingston, Tn. coal ash disaster and the cannibalization of the Bellefonte Nuclear Plant relative to the extent of plant completion.

The termination may be the result of a nuclear security issue related to the transfer of money to Iran.”

Also, the article notes that Bajestani is a nuclear engineer from Iran.

Most likey was appppointed to project manager as a demonstration of tolerance. Political appointments to technical positions is normally a bad idea.

I think it’s a huge mistake to allow any Muslim in a sensitive position like that.
