Prayers for budge and his family. He sounds like a good and decent man, may he rest forever in the loving peace of the Lord.
If it’s untoward to ask I humbly apologize, but for those of us who did not have the honor of knowing budge, was he a combat vet, or were there medical issues surrounding the loss of his limbs?

"was he a combat vet, or were there medical issues surrounding the loss of his limbs?" I found the courage to ask him that oce. As it turns out, it was youthful foolishness that brought about his injuries. I won't go into detail, but the short version is that he was hit by a train. It's nothing short of a miracle that he survived. I think he told me he was 20 when it happened.

(If Obama is the answer, it must have been a really stupid question!)

My husband and I only met Budge in person a few times but he so impressed us with his outgoing and cheerful manner. He was also quite intelligent. He told us the same as he told SL, an accident involving his auto, maybe truck, and a train when he was around 20yrs old.
