Al Jazeera English: Live Stream

Incredible live coverage in Cairo. Now reporting that the military has been ordered into the streets to enforce the curfew. They have already set a troop carrier on fire.

Why are they showing footage of the Lakers winning the NBA Championship last year?

There have been a lot of articles over the last couple days, including a big one in the New York Times, talking about how al-Jazeera has played a big role in provoking all of these protests.

And it is certainly no coincidence that Tunisia, Egypt, and Yemen all have governments that are friendly to the United States, or at least cooperative with the United States in fighting al Qaeda.

“Why post an Anti-american source?”

We post Obama comments, don’t we? How anti-American can you get?

I have been watching this same live stream for five hours hours now. It’s been facinating. I should have posted it early this morning, but I knew I would hear comments like yours, so I posted it on a thread 1/2 hour ago.

Yesterday I posted a facebook source of news updates from Egypt and was accused of supporting the Muslim of Brotherhood. Sheesh!

History in the making and no one has this kind of coverage. Don’t listen to the coverage, which, by the way, has not mentioned America in any way. Just watch the pictures.

Suit yourself. If the board mods feel it’s inappropriate, they will remove it.

I can't imagine that the Qatari government is too happy with al-Jazeera pushing revolts against U.S.-backed Arab governments, considering that it is a U.S.-backed Arab government.

They'll probably continue to tolerate it (if they aren't secretly encouraging it) because they probably think this won't happen in Qatar. After all, people don't tend to get too angry with their governments when everyone is making money.

I for one appreciate you posting this. I never would have seen the Al-Jazeera footage otherwise.

Yes for some reason I don’t like giving web hits to the enemy or referring others to them.

That works to their benefit by helping to normalize them in American society.

I believe we're watching the diabolical answer to the fall of the Iron Curtain. God rescued the people of Eastern Europe from the grip of militant atheism and now we're watching the beginning of the enslavement of a large swath of Africa by the devil in the form of militant Islam.

This may all be a prelude to "the big one"; Saudi Arabia. If that country descends into chaos, oil prices go through the stratosphere and the oil supply itself may be in question. If such a scenario were to unfold, this country would be in a world of hurt.

Same here.

This is only the beginning of serious change (for the worst) in the Middle East and we’d better keep abreast of it.

Only a matter of time before the military sides with the protesters.

Mubarak is finished.

If the Islamists take over, the Middle East and the entire world will change.

Our bozo in the White House will not help, either.

All that’s missing is Howard Cosell to give the play-by-play:

This is tremendous, Don, just tremendous. The atmosphere heavy, uncertain, overtones of ugliness. A reminder, in a way, of how it was in March of 1964 at Miami Beach when Clay met Liston for the first time and nobody was certain how it would turn out. The crowd is tense; they’ve been here since ten this morning. And... and I think I see... the door beginning to open. El Presidente may be coming out. The door opens. It’s he... it’s El Presidente waving at the crowd. A shot rings out! He turns... he runs back toward the building, trying to get in. This crowd is going wild. He’s caught in a crossfire of bullets. And down! It’s over! It’s all over for El Presidente!

We’d better gear up and start drilling for oil here.
