Anderson Cooper is giving Michele Bachmann an F in U.S. history.
The CNN host slammed the Minnesota Republican congresswoman's recent remarks about diversity in America, including claims that the Founding Fathers "worked tirelessly until slavery was no more" and skin color "didn't matter" in the early days of democracy.
During his "Keeping Them Honest" segment on Monday night, Cooper said Bachmann simply "airbrushed herself some new history," adding the U.S. representative's remarks are "either a deliberate rewriting of our history or signs that she has a shaky grasp" on what really happened.
Bachmann, a rising Tea Party star who is rumored to be considering a presidential run in 2012, delivered the controversial remarks to a group called Iowans for Tax Relief on Jan. 21.
"It didn't matter the color of their skin. It didn't matter their language. It didn't matter their economic status," Bachmann told the audience while describing the experience of early settlers in America.
"It didn't matter whether they descended from known royalty or are of a higher class or a lower class. It made no difference. Once you got here, we were all the same. Isn't that remarkable? It is absolutely remarkable."
Her spokesman did not immediately return requests for comment.
Cooper quickly pointed out the difficulties a number of ethnic groups have faced, including Irish immigrants, Japanese-Americans who were placed in internment camps and enslaved Africans who were brought to the U.S. against their will.
Bachmann went on to say that while slavery was still tolerated when the nation began, the "very founders that wrote those documents worked tirelessly until slavery was no more in the United States," including John Quincy Adams.

You can tell they are afraid she’s gonna run...
Anderson, bless her little heart, was bummed because Michele didn’t mention the contribution of our Founding Flamers
She hit the target last night. The leftist synchophants are apopletic over the direct strike.
A lefty complains that someone else is rewriting history? I guess he thinks the libs are supposed to have a monopoly on that.
Um, Anderson, you should get back on your meds again. You’re decompensating!! Oh, wait. That’s his normal everyday behavior. My bad!

See, it doesn’t matter if it’s Palin, or Gingrich, or Reagan, or Bachmann. Liberals are going to do everything they can to shred them and work to marginalize them.
The more exposure she gets, the more she will get the “treatment” they gave Palin.
Experienced teabagger Anderson Cooper...and I thought he would go balistic when she mentioned that we defeated the Japaneese in WWII. A lack of PC speak!
Aw... who listens to a guy with two last names?

Michelle dropped a Daisy Cutter on BHO. It was priceless. I could hardly believe how good it was. She had Chrissy Matthews foaming at the mouth.

Though compelled to tolerate slavery, the Founders both limited and undermined it. In 1776, every colony permitted slavery. By 1804, it had been abolished in a majority of states. The Northwest Ordinance of 1787 forbade its expansion into a large new territory, and in 1808the earliest date permitted under the ConstitutionCongress outlawed the international slave trade.

Yeah I saw this live when Cooper went after Bachmann’s comments mainly because I was bored. Basically the left is trying to have a Palin free month, you can look it up on this site, but only to Sharpen their tools to go after other Republicans like namely Michele Bachmann. On last night show spirited debate about the tea party between Ari Fleischer and Erik Erickson and all the leftists. But both those guys tried not to go into Michele Bachmann much after they ran her tea Part response to Obama. You can tell they are as afraid of Bachmann as Palin.
Anderson Cooper’s GGG grandfather Cornelius Vanderbilt would have wholeheartedly agreed with Michelle BAchmann’s statements.
The privileged life Cooper lives is very much the result of his family’s hostility to slavery...
strange comments, what does he expect to happen, no one to call him out on the hypocrisy and lack of respect for his own family’s patriarch?
LOL! Anderson Cooper, who has taken more balls on the chin than a big-league catcher, thinks of history in terms of what is known NOW and not what was reality in the PAST. The early settlers(Pilgrims) and native Americans did meet in peace and work together.

Gotta love those charts.
“Are you better off today than you were 4 years ago?”
The Constitution does not say that slaves were 3/5 of a person. The south wanted slaves to be counted for representation. Which would mean more representation in Congress for their states. Even though slaves couldn't vote. And the abolitionist didn't want them counted at all. So they came to a compromise that every 5 slaves would be counted as 3.
If you use the lefts logic that slaves were 3/5ths of a person. That would mean slave owners wanted them counted as fully people and because abolitionist didn't want them counted at all, it would mean abolitionists didn't count them as human.
This is what the Constitution actually says: Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons.
