Skip to comments.'Birthers' have become respectable

I want to tip my hat to my friends Rush Limbaugh and Matt Drudge for helping immensely in raising the visibility of a story WND has been championing for more than two years.
That story, of course, is one the entire country in fact, the entire world now knows about.
It is the question of Barack Obama's constitutional eligibility for the presidency.
Last week, both of these men, in their own way, made it respectable to talk about and write about the absolute, established fact that Obama is hiding something in his steadfast refusal to release his long-form birth certificate to the public.
Rush has long joked about the missing birth certificate, for which I have been grateful. But last Friday he opened his show with an extensive monologue on the controversy, crediting WND with breaking the story. (In fact, WND has written hundreds of stories about the issue since 2008. More meaningful coverage, I believe, than all the rest of the media combined.)
"The story originated at WorldNetDaily
and, of course, if it originates anywhere outside the mainstream press, the mainstream press will not acknowledge it," explained Limbaugh.

Has Orly issued any statements?
Possibly she is standing aside to let an independent story take its course. If it pans out that the Emperor has no clothes and the news is completely independent of Orly, it’s even more damaging.
I do give much credit to WND. However, the notion he has been the only outlet pursuing this is nonsense. Individual freepers have done as much or more work on this as WND. As well as some bloggers.
Let their life history be displayed before all.
In doing so, the obvious question will be raised: Why do you not do the same, Husein?
This would carry more weight if it wasn't coming from World Net Daily.
“Whomever becomes the GOP nominee in 2012 should post a detailed resume with copies of University transcripts, and all other pertinent info on the candidate, including a copy of their birth certificate.
Let their life history be displayed before all.
In doing so, the obvious question will be raised: Why do you not do the same, Husein?”
Better yet, let’s have every Republican presidential candidate release all the above information upon announcing that they are running for the nomination. Vetting within the party is important too.
Besides, why wait months when the pressure can start mounting on Obama now, like Chinese water torture, every time another Republican announces entry into the race. Sweet.
Rush and Matt can raise all the heck they want, there is still a whole population out there that has a very low opinion of them and their rants and will ignore anything they say.
Both they have a high opinion of themselves, one which I'm positive that Polarik and others do not share.
Always were respectable, at least in respect to all the missing documentation, the forged CoLB on Daily Kos, and the fact that the stalling, foot-dragging, misdirection, etc. continues to this day.
Further, it’s quite obvious that Obama touted himself, repeatedly, as “Kenyan-born”. Whether or not that’s true, Obama is responsible for this “legend”. Too many writers called him that from America, to Europe and to Africa.
“Individual freepers have done as much or more work on this as WND.”
Last night Crissy Spittle Matthews also tried to get all of his guests to declare the Birfers mad & nuts & crackpots and whatever, God only knows why these media weirdos maintain jobs..... they are very unintelligent and extremely lacking in logic and rationality.
Time to stack up all BO’s lies & tangential issues; NBC eligibility, Campaign contribution fraud, college records, illegal firing of IG’s, auto dealers, stealing from GM bold holders, etc., etc.....keep it on the front page.
I enjoy doing my part whenever I venture over to Alan Colmes' website...
Thought Chrissy wanted to see the Long Form?
Is he a house divided against himself now?
World Net Daily may be sensationalistic at times, but they have championed the cause of internet alternate news from the very beginning.
The biggest thing WND did was challenge the Clinton Administration and Congess regarding the credentialing of the press. We learned from WND's crusade that a small cabal of press corps insiders determined who got WH day passes and who got permanent WH press passes.
WND was being denied passes because of Paul Sperry's reporting early reporting on White House emails and the downgrade of the White House phone system, as well as embarrassing Clinton during an childrens's Easter egg event. As a result, WND was denied daily press passes to the daily briefings. WND complained, and demanded a change to the way that WH accreditation was determined.
He was contemptuous of birthers last night. I’m curious if he will be the next person let go by Comcast.
Well there is some comfort on being opposite of Chris Matthews - did he make any comment about Abercrombie’s buddy of 40 years saying there’s no Obama Long Form Birth Certificate?
Obama story about Hawaii past and lost birth certificate
Only because you and some others keep saying so.
WND is a respectable site and conservatives should not knock one of the few places that allows conservative perspectives.
works for me.
I don’t know if birthers have become respectable but I do think birthers have reached a tipping point in public perception.
NO, Chris never mentioned Neil Abercrombie.
Since it is now coming from the dim gov of HI, I guess it is not only coming from WND.
I listen to Rush and he flatly stated that he thinks the whole controversy is a “rope a dope” to get conservatives to take their eyes off of the ball: repealing the outrages of the Obama Administration and instituting fiscal reform.
Besides, I think the Marxist bastard is from another planet, anyway.
The country is finally beginning to wake up from the wave of mass hysteria and Messianic Obamunism that swept the nation in ‘08.
The “rope-a-dope” conspiracy theory is not credible and too-smart-by-half. It also violates Occam’s Razor.
Rush better get out in front of this issue or he risks following Peggy Noonan, Ann Coulter, the Stockholm Syndrome conservatives and other after-birther/deniers into irrelevance.
Imagine if Rev Jeremiah Wright was elected president. This is what we got with the jug eared Kenyan
However, Mr. Matthews frequently has Rep. Michele Bachmann on his show, and I frequently check out HARDBALL to see if Mr. Bo-Tingles has her scheduled that evening.
Bachmann is simply imperial on his show, she is regal, she is poised, she is gracious ---- she drives Mr. Matthews NUTS ---- he loathes her, he lampoons her, he interrupts her, he spittles & growls & snarls, and then laughs contemptuously at her..... but Rep. Bachmann is imperturbable, she is impervious to the machinations of Chrissey and she is focused, cogent, articulate.
It's the BEST TV available on the entire market, I kid you NOT, I do not exaggerate, and last night, although she wasn't on HARDBALL but instead was featured on Bill O'Reilly....
Last night was funny when Pat Buchanan teased Chris Matthews that Chrissy must literally adore Bachmann, or something like that because Matthews has Bachmann on his show EVERY OTHER NIGHT --- LOLOLOLOL
“FREE THE LONG FORM!”
If this were all just a really bad movie, the writers would use the State of the Union address tonight, as a the perfect time to have federal agents approach Hussein as he was at the podium, arrest him and start the usurpation trial.
McCain tried the gentlemanly approach by immediately putting out his Birth Certificate and then patiently waiting for the media to do it’s job with his opponent.
That didn’t work so well.
Put it out and then publicly call for Obama to release his records. Run paid advertisements if necessary.
yeah, but most of them love Chris Matthews and now he has asked “why doesn’t Obama just release the long form”.
The walls are closing in.
‘Birthers’ have become respectable?
In whose eyes.....the media, the public?
It doesn’t matter a bit if Congress or SCOTUS fail to due their duty and uphold the Supreme Law of the Land.
When 60% of the population believes there’s something to the scandal, it kinda puts the kibosh on this being crackpot stuff.
