Three Officers Shot in St. Petersburg

It was the latest in a rash of shootings of police officers in recent days and the second time that police were shot in Florida while serving arrest warrants.

Two police officers, a man and a woman, were shot and killed last week in Miami, Fla., while serving an arrest warrant on a man wanted for murder.

An officer in Lincoln City, Ore., was critically wounded late Sunday night when he pulled over a car for speeding. A manhunt is underway after a brief highway chase disabled the suspect's car. The driver ran into a wooded area and remains at large.

In Detroit on Sunday, four officers were wounded when a gunman barged into a precinct stationhouse and opened fire. He was shot dead. Police said today that the gunman was a relative of a man who was about to be sentenced in a double homicide.

Two more cops were shot and wounded in a Port Orchard, Wash., Walmart parking lot Sunday before a female officer arrived on the scene and killed the shooter.

suspect had an "extensive criminal history"
I wonder about the last judge who let this dirtbag walk. I don't know any details, of course... just wondering.

“suspect had an “extensive criminal history”

Probably just misunderstood. Or a poor kid from a broken home. Or ... a scumbag.

these are the kind of folks that tactical teams or swat teams are needed for, not non-violent pot smokers.

I’ve no problem with special precautions/actions being taken in the case of murder suspects;just be sure to be at the correct address!

We need more gun control laws to prevent this kind of thing.

Open season on cops, it seems. I’m following the recent story of the NJ cop executed while he was sitting in his cruiser (shades of Crack city Queens NY late 80’s). I truly want to know what class of crook thinks that such a tactic is a winning one. Is it some sad bastard with the worlds lowest IQ or is contempt for law reaching Mexican levels?

I dunno ... the disregard for life and liberty and the the rule of law (agree with them or not) while the rise in support for nihilism and anarchy is reaching new heights in America. Nothing surprises me anymore. But I am getting both sad and pissed about it. I thought the article would get more thoughts like yours, though, and I’m glad for those like yours...

I recall a similar incident from early 70’s:
“Incident Details
Cause of Death: Gunfire
Date of Incident: Friday, May 21, 1971
Weapon Used: Gun; Unknown type
Suspect Info: Denied parole in 2004

Patrolmen Jones and Joseph Piagentini were shot and killed in the 32nd Precinct when they were ambushed by members of the Black Liberation Army.

As the two patrolmen were returning to their cruiser at approximately 2200 hours, three suspects snuck up behind them and opened fire. Patrolman Jones was struck in the back of the head and killed instantly. Patrolman Piagentini was shot 13 times and succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital.

One of the suspects stole Patrolman Jones’ weapon which was later recovered in San Francisco, California, after several BLA members opened fire on a San Francisco police officer.

one good thing, it made the police more likely to shoot first than wait for a problem to develop.

Watch out. There are a bunch of cops who are saying this is a “war on cops” even though these shootings they admit are not related to each other.

One chief was quoted as saying a certain kind of criminal is targeting officers, a type of person that wants to ‘thwart’ law enforcement.

‘Thwart’.

Just watch out for false flag ops. I see this as being a crisis they’d use against 1A and 2A folks.
