Studies have shown widespread mental illness among college students for years.
Here’s one:
2008 college voter turnout, for Obama, 2nd highest ever.

Mambie pambie jack wagons.
Beat me to it!...daaaaaamit!
“Chalk this up to all the poor kids pushed onto meds when they just need some free time and physical exercise.
We are going to pay the price for all these new diseases we have created and the meds we consume to treat them.”
Yeah, I definitely think there’s truth to that.
Maybe it’s because there are more college students.
If they had ADHD diagnoses when I was growing up, I probably would have ended up drugged out. (I became pretty good at drugging myself later on, but that is a whole ‘nother story. haha)
The mental issues would have already existed prior to college if one was sufficiently stupid to have done that in the first place.
This is a direct result of the current generation having grown up in the era of fake self esteem. They were coddled all through their childhoods and now they can’t handle the pressure of impending adulthood.
Of course, since they classify any addiction and even ADD in college, a mental illness. Far too many of them have been on drugs prescribed by psychiatrists, that in and of themselves cause lasting mental illnesses.

Agree — Young adults today were so coddled, so pampered and protected by parents that they can’t cope now, and since things are really bad out there ‘in the world’ now, it’s all the worse for the poor lambs.
The overzealous use of meds for real or imagined mental/emotional issues, the insistence that all kids be told how ‘special’ they are and get gold stars in class, mostly undeserved, and all the rest of the mollycoddling have taken their toll.
Today’s younger kids need to get out of the house, play outdoors, create their own entertainment, etc... and be allowed to GROW. This society has created a real monster and a lot of it has come from the schools, too.
No wonder the cheeeers and applause in Tucson Obamasm.
Sooo many mentals, and they pay for it.
Jared Loughner was shuffled off to the local Community College instead of to an insane asylum.
I think you are onto something, but it's not so much the rates of MJ use, as the strength (THC content) of MJ that kids smoke today. I've seen some MJ abusers with pretty serious psychiatric side effects.
They can’t help it if the color yellow makes them sad!
Ya gotta be quick...
Drugging kids early and often MAY result in worse disorders later...OR...telling a 7 year old that he is mentally ill with ADD/ADHD or bipolar, etc. and then making them take pills for it every day...Well, THAT could convince a kid that he is messed up if he is or isn’t. Told he can’t act normally without a “therapist” and pills...a recipe for disaster when he gets to college and people expect him to function on his own without his Mommy and therapist and pills.
Do most of the students attend Arizona State?
