I agree with Jim Nantz.

It's unsportsmanlike conduct, pure and simple. It isn't "having fun." We used to call it "in your face." Gee, that sounds like something a genltleman would do, right?

The NFL rule was a direct result of players getting out of control with their end zone "celebrations." The "fun bunch" of the Washington Redskins from 25 years ago comes to mind.

I am not a big Patriots fan, and I am a native to NY state, but the Jets are getting old, quick. Between the trash talking by players with nine illegitimate children and antics like this, I would like to see them be gone next week.

I’m not a Jets fan however, let them doing their ‘thing’.

Eventually, the Jets will get beaten and will have to endure someone else celebrating in their face.

Karma’s a b!tch!!

“I am not a big Patriots fan”

Ok, you’re a small one then, still cranky after the loss last night. LOL

I’m not big on celebrations either.. but I try and remember it is a game after all, one played and coached by big kids, some less mature than others.

The exuberance of the moment can make the most seasoned old player and coach act like it too .. regardless, thank goodness the Patriots got outplayed, not outZebra’d.

Think they missed Moss? lol

I find it absurd that Jim Nantz screwed a 20-something former stripper to wreck his marriage of 26 years, and then bashed Tiger Woods for his conduct.

i don’t care for foolish behavior in the private sector but if the Pats don’t like how the Jets are acting, then get better and beat them. it’s just a game and kids act like kids no matter the age ... you see the same poop in the sportsworld, pro or just wednesday night leagues . cbs has to learn to deal w it

I love it. The NFL ought to bring back the over-the-top touchdown celebrations.

I agree with Nantz.

I'll go one step further and say it's absurd for lineman who sack a quarterback or a receiver who just made a catch to dance around like they just won a Super Bowl.

Get back in the huddle!

But wait, here’s Phil Simms (!), voice of reason (!?):

“I’ve got to say this: there’s a time to celebrate ... that was it.”

I agree with Phil.

They flag that celebration, and ignore every other one that happened in every other game all freakin’ day.

And not that I was rooting for the Jets... I’m glad they won :)

"I've never understood the absurdity of all the self-aggrandizing...."

Was thinking the exact same thing, albiet in much more "colorful" words, as I watched Clemons of the Sea Hawks posturing for the camera after a sack in the early game. At the time the Hawks were down by 21 points.

I have never understood why is became wrong to celebrate achievement in sports (or anything for that matter). We won you lost.........funny walking, jumping, cheering is called for.

I'm no Jets fan, but anytime you can piss off 70,000 Patriots fans in person, you can't pass that up.

The funniest thing was watching Ryan waddle towards the end zone, like he was angry and going to put a stop to it - then he joined in!

Funny stuff!

If I were an NFL coach, my players would not be allowed to celebrate big plays on the field... period! I’d tell them to act like they’ve done it before. Act like men who know when the mission is finished and when the celebration is founded. It’s a team sport for men, and little Johnny-On-The-Playground needs to wait until the Super Bowl is won, and then he can crow ALL HE WANTS!

Every time I see a player yanking his own chain before he’s even entered the end zone I wish that someone would sneak up behind him and smack the ball out of his hand, ALA the Cowboy who had that happen in the Super Bowl.

I consider it ghetto behavior. I don't like it. I think sports is harmed by trash talk, "attitude" and aggressive celebration of one's self.

I don't care who is doing it, I don't care what team they represent. It's low class.

In this instance, Nantz was right. The celebration was a real snoozer! (Sorry - couldn’t resist)

Even after Gastineau, this was a stupid thing to do. You play to WIN, not to impress your fans with how “cool” you are.

Each team should get to have a troupe of costumed midgets that runs along the opposing teams sideline, taunting them each time your team scores.

I agree with Jim Nantz. Why would Greene celebrate knowing a penalty would be charged and Tom Brady would have 15 less yards to go to score.

The Jets are just obnoxious.
