I remember Pats fans dancing on the Bolts logo.
They can take it. Sauce for the goose is Sauce for the gander. The most classless organization getting what it’s had coming to it in a long time is excellent.
Gee sounds like a team I’ve heard from before. Obnoxious and poor winners goes with the Pats like macaroni and cheese.
I’m old enough to remember when players simply dropped the ball in the end zone, returned to the sidelines, shook hands with their team mates, and that was that.
These days I just scream, “THAT’S WHAT YOU GET PAID TO DO!!!” at the television.
Someone is suffering from Patriot envy. LOL!
Knocked LT out in 2006, and in 2008. Darn right I’m happy to see the Pats go down.
I loved how when he did some gravity defying run and made it to the end zone he would hand the ball to the official and head towards the bench.
He was of the school of "act like you have been there before"
Go Steelers!!!!
don’t bother me none- i just laugh at the people who constantly cry about a double standard yet apply one when it fits their agenda...
or, your jerkiness would’ve got you thrown in jail as you don’t have the millions nor celebrity to get off...
fact is this dumbass never learns from his mistakes- a bit more than jerkiness at this point....
I don’t want to argue anymore.
I have suffered a loss tonight, and it doesn’t matter anymore.
You have that right and toss in Sam Huff and Chuck Bednarik also....especially that monster Bednarik!!! These tatooed young’n thugs dancing and jiving, (is that still used?), around today like savages make a once great sport hard to view. I can’t believe even some FReepers find these idiotic liberal like ‘look at me’ celebrations following just routine plays acceptable. (Now after a game winner, sure why not and I would also but after every damn routine play it seems?) Good grief. Okay, this old timer’s gripe complete.
I didn’t see any In-Your-Face about his celebration. Rather, he was explaining to New England that they SUCKED...in a way that they might (finally) be able to understand it.
...and he was using sign language for the hard-of-hearing.
Stillers don’t intimidate as easily as the nancy boys from New England. A proper butt whoopin is in order.
I guess it depends on how you take it. As for myself, until I got married when I was around the same age Ben is now, I could have been in trouble any number of times if I had been some celebrity with deep pockets to pick. Instead, I was sloughed off as just another 'jerk.' But then again, no one figured I could be a lifetime payday either.
After marriage and a couple of kids, I finally grew up and realized that the little I had, and what I loved, could be gone quickly if I screwed up like I had in the past. I hope Ben has finally reached that point in his life.
I congratulate you on being such a perfect person that you have never been a jerk in your life. You are obviously a superior being destined for sainthood with no faults whatsoever. Feel free to cast all the stones you like on either me or Ben.
I agree. Great organization from the owner on down. No nonsense.
The biggest complaint seems to be that Belichick has no personality. I'm sure he does have something, but he does not care for it to be part of the story like Ryan and some of the other ego driven hot dog coaches looking for media face time.
In that regard, Belichick reminds me of another era -- the Tom Landry's or Chuck Noll's. He does not really give a damn about what we think of him. I like that.
The great coaches in the best sense of the word are teachers who make it all about the team, not about themselves. Their teams speak for them.
I'm not a Pats fan, but I sure respect their organization, players and management. They have been among the best in the NFL every year for over a decade, and that is a damn tough thing to do in the modern era unlike so many 'one-year wonder' teams that fall apart like we have seen in the age of 'parity.' Any organization that can keep getting into the playoffs year after year is doing something right.
Hats off to the Patriots. They have my respect.
Here is the irony to this whole thing.
If CBS hadn’t had their cameras on him, and then put that footage on the air, it would solve the problem instantly.
If the MEDIA quit POPULARIZING the players ANTICS, the controversy would stop.
There was never any whooping, hollering, dancing or play acting, he'd either drop the ball on the ground or hand it to the ref then run back to his sideline.
If anyone had a right to celebrate, he did considering the lions have always had a problem scoring touchdowns.......
