NEW CASTLE, Del. - January 14, 2011 (WPVI) -- New details continue to emerge about the mysterious death of a former White House advisor from Delaware....
...Wheeler sent an e-mail to friends and neighbors just before Christmas. In it, he vents his growing anger over the new house, that it blocks his view of the river and Battery Park.
In the e-mail Wheeler wrote,
"The core of Battery Park is dying, because as can now be seen, the huge mansion will dominate the site....In the very large picture, over history and generations, our country counts on each locality to guard American heritage. Here, in this beloved place, we are failing in that duty....This started when Ms. Marini had her husband illegally knock down the existing historic house. Then Ms. Marini had all the big trees torn down illegally. Ms. Marini just knocked down whatever was in her way."....

The man wasn’t much on respecting others property rights.
The article does not deliver what was promised. The whole article is newly uncovered old information about Wheeler’s dispute with his McMansion building neighbor, which probably has zilch to do with his death.
What’s the new development? I’ve already read all this information.
...and we know this how...?
Alternatively,...Wheeler was so ticked off looking at that mega Mansion he offed himself and left enough evidence around to finger the Marinis...hope they have a good alibi.
He said they broke the zoning codes buy cutting the trees and building a bigger house than zoning permitted. They must have a lot of pull.
They must have a lot of money......and lawyers.....
Many years ago I worked with a guy (terrific, hard-working, honest fellow) who happened to be related to a prominent mob family. Some conversations at that time (early '80s) left me with the impression that there was a lot of mob in Delaware. I never forgot that, and sometimes things like this Wheeler murder(?) happen and it makes me squint.
The e-mail (the “new development”) sheds no light on the murder, even if you are inclined toward the theory that the Marinis did it. Hence my complaint that the headline cheats the reader.
Exactly. But Wheeler may have been too clever by half in an effort to establish an alibi. I get this nagging feeling that Wheeler got caught red-handed trying to sabotage that new house - - caught by the kind of people who didn't care to deal with cops.
I don't write the headlines, I just post the articles. :O)
Seriously though, the article is the only source of the content of the e-mail that I'm aware of. Where else have you seen it?
Wheeler blames the mayor and the town for not stopping her. Now Wheeler is dead and his fight is over. However, there has been claims that he tried to burn the house down with rodent repellent smoke bombs on December 28, 2010. Strange that a workboot imprint has been found in Wheeler’s house (when construction is going on across the street), floorboards are tore up, and his cell phone just happens to be located on this other disputed property. All the while a television blares for several days from the Wheeler home.
More strange is the discovery by a private investigator that Marini has ties to
William Q. Saienni, Sr. who founded several concrete paving companies. Further research shows that he also has possible ties to landfills as noted in a Delaware court case with Artesian Water Company.

I have a hard time believing that. Zoning is there for a reason that house should not have gone up to block someone else’s view.
have that issue in different towns on the water in our area
Wheelers friends say with his background/experience if he wanted to burn it down he would have succeeded and no one would have known who did it.
However, I posted the following on the other thread - the Marini's have some interesting businesses and relatives.
Frank and Regina Marini are from the Hockessin DE area where they have another home, Francis Frank Marini appears to link to a William Q. Saienni, Sr., age 79 of Hockessin, DE who died on December 5, 2001. William Q. The dumpster chosen for his burial was off an easily accessible highway that allowed his carrier to bypass local law enforcement attention and get back on the road quickly after the deed was done. This is a person who had to have familiarity with that dump site (Newark DE zip code 19711) . Someone who works or lives nearby; someone who does business with one of those 10 establishments next to the dumpster used, or someone who has to travel through that areaand uses I95 (495) or 273 to do itwould fit this profile.

Board of Adjustment
Public Hearing
The demolition permit was for the rear portion of the building. No City personnel were notified when the entire structure was demolished. Mr. Marinis company performed the demolition and the Marinis paid for the demolition.
Mayor Klingmeyer questioned Mr. Bergstrom about what initiated the demolition. He responded that a portion of the building had caved in making it unsafe.
(Everyone providing testimony were sworn in.)
Robert Dill, 112 West Third Street, testified that he witnessed the demolition of the building and that it was intentional and described how it was done. He added that he had been informed that there are plans to widen Third Street. (The Mayor is unaware of any plans.)
