Herman Cain, a successful businessman and radio talk-show host from Atlanta, became the first official Republican presidential contender this week, by forming an exploratory committee. He once left a cushy job with Burger King to rescue Godfather’s Pizza from bankruptcy, so he’s a guy who loves playing for high stakes against long odds.
Cain is a professional mathematician, and he knows the numbers in Washington don’t add up. He’s good at geometry, too, having been unimpressed by Bill Clinton’s attempts at triangulation. He was a major player in the defeat of HillaryCare back in 1994, after a legendary town-hall showdown with President Clinton. If our current hard-Left President tries scrambling to the center during his re-election campaign, he’ll find Cain standing at the meridian with some paperwork for him to fill out. Stock up on popcorn if Cain gets a chance to debate Obama face-to-face.
Cain is black, and has a great deal of fun mocking racial hypersensitivity. The Atlantic relates one such incident from a GOP event in New Orleans last year, when Cain reviewed the liberal caricature of Tea Party activists as “racist, redneck tea baggers”… then declared, “I had to go look in the mirror to see if I missed something!” If he runs against Obama, the Left had better shuffle the Race Card out of their deck, and resist their usual temptation to rescind the blackness of conservative African Americans. They would dissolve in a gale of Herman Cain’s laughter.

You don’t have to be careful about Cain. He doesn’t have a politically correct bone in his body.

Initially, but not for long. Not once the details and evidence of mismanagement came out.

Herman Cain is the president of Godfather's Pizza and president-elect of the National Restaurant Association. An articulate black entrepreneur, Cain transformed the debate when he challenged Clinton at a town meeting in Kansas City, Mo., last April. Cain asked the president what he was supposed to say to the workers he would have to lay off because of the cost of the "employer mandate." Clinton responded that there would be plenty of subsidies for small businessmen, but Cain persisted. "Quite honestly, your calculation is inaccurate," he told the president. "In the competitive marketplace it simply doesn't work that way."

Cain/Bachmann Or Bachmann/Cain! More-and-more I get the feeling that Sarah Palin is strategically acting as a Giant Mortar to provide cover for her more practical and less polarizing peers.
She will attend the Iowa and New Hampshire qualifiers while actually deflecting the vitriol away others.
My overall analysis:
1. He is black, if nobody noticed. It doesn't really matter to me (or probably most of us) one way or another, but it will give plenty of fodder for the left to use to accuse the GOP of “pandering” etc.
On the flip side, it will take the race card OFF THE TABLE, lest the left look like complete morons if they try to use it anyway.
2. Cain would DESTROY Obama in a debate. Wipe the floor wtih him, it would be beautiful to see.
3. He's rock-solid on the issues, and hasn't been tainted to Unelectableville by the MSM like another potential candidate... Negatives - he's relatively unknown.
