He killed and maimed victims during a decades-long bombing spree, but what keeps Ted Kaczynski up at night in his Colorado prison cell is the fear that federal officials are doing an inadequate job copying reams of his documents in advance of the materials sale at auction.
The convicted Unabomber is distressed at the haste with which he thinks government officials are moving to reproduce tens of thousands of pages of material--much of it handwritten by Kaczynski--seized from the murderers Montana cabin.
Originals of the documents will be sold off, with the proceeds going to victims of Kaczynskis bombing campaign.
A federal judge has ordered that Kaczynski be provided copies of the papers, which total somewhere between 20,000 and 40,000 pages. He plans on providing that material to the University of Michigan's Special Collections Library, where curator Julie Herrada oversees an archive devoted to anarchist and social protest material.
In letters written to his attorney over the past two weeks, Kaczynski griped that prosecutors are not allowing enough time to review the copies to make sure that each page is legible, that no documents are cut off at the top or bottom of a page, and that no pages fail to be copied.
In a January 1 letter to lawyer Erin Radekin, Kaczynski accuses her of incompetence for failing to aggressively take measures to ensure that copies of all pages of all the seized papers are included among the copies provided by the government. more

The judge ordered that all references in those documents that allude to any of his victims must be removed before they are sold. Kaczynski has challenged those ordered redactions in court on first amendment grounds, arguing that any alteration of his writings is an unconstitutional violation of his freedom of speech.[81]

Unabomber essay urges attacks on 'techno-industrial system'
July 27, 2002 | By Dan Eggen, Dominic Gates, Washington Post
In an article published this spring by Green Anarchy, a radical environmental newsletter, [unabomber Ted] Kaczynski calls on revolutionaries to "eliminate the entire techno-industrial system" by "hitting where it hurts" and disparages the activities of most radicals as "pointless."
Document machines are MUCH faster now than they were when he went behind bars. I wonder if he knows this. lol
40,000 pages of text can be scanned in practically no time.
If it was his mathematical works, fine, but its not, its his personal and political garbage....
His math work may be brilliant and useful to the future, but his writing can do no good, and only harm......burn'em....
It would be interesting to lock him and Jared Loughner up in a room for a few hours. I’m sure they could solve all the Worlds problems in under 20 minutes.
and disparages the activities of most radicals as “pointless.”
And what, exactly was his point?
Let's see--24 hrs per day, 8 spent sleeping, 1.5 spent eating, 1.5 spent on personal hygiene...that leaves 13 hours a day with nothing, and I mean nothing, to do.
Perhaps, he thought, "revolutionaries" should use terrorism to shut down free-market Capitalism, like Obama's communist pals Ayers and Dohrn, in part, wanted to do.
Ah yes, the Unibomber. Remember how the media denounced Al Gore for creating a “climate of hate” after a heavily marked-up copy of Al Gore’s “Life in the Balance” was found in the murderer’s hovel?
Me neither.
He's got a little publishing house going for him while in prison. I believe they placed his log cabin into a museum of sorts.
Monies raised goes to the victims...would one even want to take blood related money from this guy.
Good point
