The Arizona shootings were like Kwanzaa come early for America's liberal fascists
Daily Telegraph ^ | January 9, 2011 | James Delingpole

How sick do you have to be to start making political capital out of the killing of six people including a nine-year old girl, long before anyone has the remotest clue what the murderer’s motives were, or his political affiliations, or his state of mind?

Not sick at all, to judge by the response of so many US Tweeters in the immediate aftermath of the Arizona shootings. When you’re a liberal, it seems, cloying sanctimoniousness, grotesque moral posturing, double standards, hypocrisy and cynical, malevolent smearing all come as naturally and healthily as breathing.

......So let us compare and contrast the liberal blogosphere and media’s response to the Arizona shootings (ie it was all the Right’s fault) and its response to, say, the Fort Hood killings or the 2002 Beltway sniper murders. In the latter two cases, liberals walked on eggshells to avoid admitting these had anything whatsoever to do with the Religion of Peace (TM). And we’re not talking about just the first few hours afterwards when a certain amount of circumspection might have been excusable. As I mention in 365 Ways To Drive A Liberal Crazy, once the liberal MSM discovered that the Beltway assassinations were not after all the crime of an “angry white man” but of an embittered, black Muslim convert calling himself John Muhammad, it went into instant denial mode. In news reports he was referred to by his pre-conversion name, John Williams, just in case anyone got any politically incorrect ideas.

It was the same with the Fort Hood killings. As I noted at the time, the liberal blogosphere and MSM simply couldn’t bring itself to admit that Major Malik Nadal Hasan’s killing spree had anything whatsoever to do with the famously peace-loving religion of Islam. Even after it emerged .............

When they’re not covering up Jared Loughner’s leftist views, they tie him into a far right conspiracy nut.

With the MSM, it never gets old reliving OKC in 1995.

Benjamin Franklin must have had today’s LIBs in mind when he wrote: “Better to be silent and have people think you are a fool, than to open your mouth and dispel all doubts.”

LIBs would have us forget all about the eight years of ugly, hate-filled despicable treatment of George W. Bush. Maybe THAT was the cause of sending this guy off on a killing spree. You think?

BTW, one “enlightened” poster on NY Post asked how could the shooter hide a RIFLE!

The Left is doing an artful job of robbing us of the momentum we built up last week.

They will use the killings to keep the House of Reps off balance for as long as possible. While we postpone this week's schedule to undo Obamacare, the Left will loudly propose “common sense” gun control and calls to rein in conservative voices.

Give the rats no more than one week. We must regain control of the debate, what the nation discusses as soon as possible afterward.

This weekend has been eye popping. The reporting and politicizing of this tragedy was the most disgusting display of liberalism I have ever seen.

That is exactly why I don’t watch or read their coverage. I’m happier without knowing anything the MSM “reports.” Its good for my blood pressure and my sanity.

That would make a great tag line, but it's way too long.

People will get very upset if Congress does not resume it's planned calendar of action next week. The left cannot steal the normal functioning of our government in the light of this tragedy. It would be disrespectful to everything Congresswoman Giffords and the other precious victims of this massacre stand for to allow this to happen. From everything I have heard about her, she would not be supportive of this kind of neglect of the American people. She is also a gun supporter and owner herself, so that can of worms needs to be set aside..This shooter was not in control of any kind of reality and the blame should rest on those officials who knew he was a threat before this happened and did nothing about it. Paranoid schizophrenics have delusions, hallucination, hear voices and make no cognitive sense in what they say and do..I know one woman who heard a voice telling her to kill her own grandchild. She did not because those around her recognized the illness and got treatment for her. That the sleaze in our media and political world would try to put the blame for this on certain persons or groups is very evil and, in my view, will not stand now as it did in the aftermath of the Oklahoma City bombings. People are much more aware these days...

Its not the nancy show - if you think the left is spinning now, wait until the end of the week. they are not the majority in congress, it is no longer their agenda that sets the table.

I’m waiting for the Left’s chosen label for the shooting in Tucson.

Will it be similar to earlier labels like, The Unibomber, The Beltway Sniper, The Fort Hood Shootings?

It seems to me that the Left was setting up motives for Jared Loughner’s crime in order to brand him the Tea Party Shooter.

[AP report excerpt]

........Loughner’s alienation from his friends was gradual.

The Loughner they met when he was a freshman at Mountain View High School may have been socially awkward, but he was generally happy and fun to be around. The crew smoked marijuana every day, and when they weren’t going to concerts or watching movies they talked about the meaning of life and dabbled in conspiracy theories.

For a time, Loughner drank heavily, to the point of poisoning himself, the friends said. Once, during school lunch break as a junior, he downed so much tequila that he came back to class, within five minutes passed out cold, had to be rushed to the hospital and “almost died,” one friend said.

Mistrust of government was Loughner’s defining conviction, the friends said. He believed the U.S. government was behind 9/11, and worried that governments were maneuvering to create a unified monetary system (”a New World Order currency” one friend said) so that social elites and bureaucrats could control the rest of the world.

On his YouTube page, he listed among his favorite books “Animal Farm” and “Brave New World” - two novels about how authorities control the masses. Other books in the wide-ranging list included “Mein Kampf,” “The Communist Manifesto,” “Peter Pan” and Aesop’s Fables.

Over time, Loughner became increasingly introspective - what one of the friends described as a “nihilistic rut.”

An ardent atheist, he began to characterize people as sheep whose free will was being sapped by the government and the monotony of modern life.

“He didn’t want people to wake up and do the same thing every day. He wanted more chaos, he wanted less regularity,” one friend said.

The friends said Loughner told anyone who would listen that the world we see does not exist, that words have no meaning - and that the only way to derive meaning was during sleep. Loughner began obsessing about a practice called lucid dreaming, in which people try to actively control their sleeping world.

Several people who knew Loughner at community college said he did not engage in political discussions - in fact, he didn’t talk much at all, and when he did classmates cringed.

“He made a lot of the people really uncomfortable, especially the girls in the class,” said Steven Cates, who attended an advanced poetry writing class with Loughner at Pima Community College last spring. Though he struck up a passing friendship with Loughner, he said a group of other students went to the teacher to complain about Loughner at one point.

Another poetry student, Don Coorough, said Loughner read a poem about bland tasks such as showering, going to the gym and riding the bus in wild “poetry slam” style - “grabbing his crotch and jumping around the room.”

When other students, always seated, read their poems, Coorough said Loughner “would laugh at things that you wouldn’t laugh at.” After one woman read a poem about abortion, “he was turning all shades of red and laughing,” and said, “Wow, she’s just like a terrorist, she killed a baby,” Coorough said.

“He appeared to be to me an emotional cripple or an emotional child,” Coorough said. “He lacked compassion, he lacked understanding and he lacked an ability to connect.”

Cates said Loughner “didn’t have the social intelligence, but he definitely had the academic intelligence.”

“He was very into the knowledge aspect of school. He was really into his philosophy classes and he was really into logic and English. And he would get frustrated by the dumbed-down words people used in class,” Cates said.

Loughner expressed his interest in grammar and logic on the Internet as he made bizarre claims - such as that the Mars rover and the space shuttle missions were faked.

He frequently used “if-then” constructions in making nonsensical arguments. For instance: “If the living space is able to maintain the crews life at a temperature of -454F then the human body is alive in the NASA Space Shuttle. The human body isn’t alive in the NASA Space Shuttle. Thus, the living space isn’t able to maintain the crews life at a temperature of -454F.” [End Excerpt]

If the left cannot produce a quote from Palin, Beck, Limbaugh, or any other prominent conservative advocating violent measures against the current government (and they can’t), then they should all be made to apologize. A horrific incident occurs, and the bozos on the left can’t wait to make political hay over it.

Let's not forget who also used the same ploy in NYC.
One Rooty 'the Fruity' Julie-Annie!

When he was mayor, there was a shooting at the Empire State Building. The FIRST THING he did was get that anti-gun nut female Rep from Long Island and call a presser calling for MORE GUN CONTROL!

an aside: Recently I read on Drudge that Rooty's pondering another run for the GOP nomination.
Well sorry Rooty, we don't want you, EVER. Stay in NYC or in your LI Mansion with that wife of yours.
