A longtime friend of Jared Lee Loughner, the suspect in custody following the murder of six people in an apparent assassination attempt on Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, said there was a mysterious, significant change in him a year before the shooting.

"I don't know might have caused him to change, but from the way he was talking to me on Myspace... you can see. It was just questions and questions and random, weird questions that didn't go together," she said. "He wanted to know everything... He would just trip out.
"I don't know why it didn't jump out at me, like, 'Hey, something's wrong."

One Pima Community College student, who had a poetry class with Loughner later in his college career, said he would often act "wildly inappropriate."
"One day [Loughner] started making comments about terrorism and laughing about killing the baby," classmate Don Coorough told ABC News, referring to a discussion about abortions. "The rest of us were looking at him in shock ... I thought this young man was troubled."
Another classmate, Lydian Ali, recalled the incident as well.
"A girl had written a poem about an abortion. It was very emotional and she was teary eyed and he said something about strapping a bomb to the fetus and making a baby bomber," Ali said.

Suspect? SUSPECT? He was witnessed shooting her by any number of people. The fact he did it is NOT in doubt but his “guilt” may be. Not likely in Arizona.

I haven’t read anything about the parents. We do know that the school sent him home with a note that they would not let him return until he had been evaluated by a psychologist.
that is exactly what I was going to say. I personally believe there is a correlation between drug use and early onset schizophrenia in young men too. It may not be causation but there is a correlation from what I have seen several times.
His mother works for the government, or so I’ve seen that posted on FR.

There's such a lack of coverage on his family I am starting to think they're somehow "protected" by the Dems like Sheriff Buttnik.
His postings/writings/videos have many of the signs of a schizophrenic episode.
The Left sees this as a two-fer: Guns are bad and Rush/Palin/Beck caused this.
Neither have anything at all to do with what occurred, but in the end it just makes the Left look ignorant and silly.
The kid had to even take a cab to the market... makes me wonder what state of mind he was in that he didn’t have, or couldn’t drive, a car.
