Michelle Malkin has the grim list of innocent victims who have died as a result of wounds received during the AZ shootings yesterday.
Not receiving half the attention accorded to Rep. Giffords, is the tragic death of federal judge John Roll who, unrelated to the shooting by the madman Loughner, received numerous death threats for some of his immigration rulings:
John. M. Roll, the federal judge killed Saturday in the Tucson shooting that critically wounded Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.), has been at the center of the state's complicated political battle over immigration. In February 2009, Roll received hundreds of threats after he allowed a lawsuit filed by illegal immigrants against a rancher to go forward. "They cursed him out, threatened to kill his family, said they'd come and take care of him. They really wanted him dead," a law enforcement official told The Washington Post in May 2009.
Threats against federal judges and prosecutors nationwide have been soaring in recent years. There is no indication he was the gunman's target, and witness accounts describe the shooter as firing at Giffords first.
U.S. marshals put Roll, who was appointed to the federal bench by President George H.W. Bush in 1991, under 24-hour protection for about a month. They guarded his home in a secluded area just outside Tucson, screening his mail and escorting him to court, to the gym and even to Mass.

It sounds like she was the main target.Just listened to an interview with one of the men who subdued the shooter.He indicated that she was shot first.
It was not advertised that he would be there. He apparently stopped by after going to church because he wanted to say hello to her and perhaps to do some grocery shopping before going home.
It's what they aren't telling us that makes everybody wonder.
According to the judge’s family, he had gone to early mass and decided ON THE SPUR OF THE MOMENT to stop by and see Giffords- they’re friends- it was a coincidence he was even there.
Further- law enforcement reports there is evidence to show that Giffords was the intended target. Also witnesses at the event say the shooter showed up and asked to speak with her, was told he’d have to wait in line, he left and came back shortly with his gun and went right for her first.
Of course not. He was a Bush Sr appointee. Also, John Roberts said the country lost a great judge (or something like that). If John Roberts said that, then the media must be quietly celebrating his death.

Exactly. I raised just that point on another thread last night and was ‘shot down,’ and told I was being disrespectful of the woman shot when many others were killed and injured as well. *SHRUG*
We won’t know who was the main target until the perp speaks up...if the media will allow it. They HAVE their story line now...Democrat wounded, Tea Party at fault. Untrue, but they don’t care. Grrrrr!

The judge was not scheduled or announced as attending this event - he made a personal last minute decision to stop by the event
We know he wasn’t the target because his being there was not planned. He happened to stop by and say hello to his friend, the Congresswoman. Wrong place, wrong time as is so often the case in these tragedies. No need to make mysteries or stories where there are none.
It doesn’t appear that the judge was the target as he just dropped by unannounced. It also makes no sense that this dude was in an anti-immigration group like reported. Giffords was pretty tough on immigration enforcement. Why would she be targeted by an anti-immigration group for being tough on immigration enforcement? It makes no sense. Something very corrupt is going on with this so called investigation imho.
And so the conspiracy theories begin.
The only conspiracy going on is the left’s attempt to pin this on conservatives by any means neccessary. They have sunk to a new low with this one and big sis over at the DHS will do everything in her power to promote the same agenda. I am reminded of her attempt to brand our military and Tea Party members as potential terrorists in one of her first official acts after her nomination.
I hope Rush, Beck and others on our side come out swinging tomorrow. Enough is enough!
Greta is reporting he is an anti-semitic and several sources show him to be an insane leftist, i.e. his you tube page, etc.and the judge wasn’t an expected speaker.
But there are some interesting things being said about the Judge and his involvement with napolitano btw he was complaining about AZ’s recent immigration law he said it was overburdening the judicial system, and causing a judicial emergency. He sought “permission to delay bringing felons to trial”. He also allowed a suit against Rancher’s by illegal aliens to proceed. Seems he was quite liberal on immigration and crime.

Now onto him and nappy there was claims he was in a criminal conspiracy with her over New Life Health Center.
Apparently the IRS had a tax lien against New Life Health Center because they placed assets in a foreign trust.

Always vote ALL judges out during the election process - is my philosophy.
There is no reason to keep anyone employed in any position that does nothing except accept an appointment. Who knows what they think, other than (maybe) the person(s) who appointed them and what was (Their) agenda in making that appointment?
The cases that were upcoming on his docket need to be reviewed.
