Isn’t that the same facility they closed while looking for anthrax? The big one off Brentwood Rd. N.E.?
Someone is abusing their hotmail account...
Why is the government in the business of delivering 20,000 tons of unwanted junk mail daily?
Just in!
Envelope ignites at Washington DC post office: report
Because it creates jobs for people not just at the post office.
How are they igniting? Makes me think of the UPS (??) packages in the printer/copiers. They needed “ignition”.
Because it creates jobs for people not just at the post office.
If we could eliminate the 20,000 wasteful tons of daily junk mail daily, we could eliminate 30 percent of those government employees....Smaller government is good for all.
because they are paid to....
The terrorists are on to us. They don’t need to kill anyone, only to keep the Gov’t apparatus busy with hoaxes.
Our Gov’t and society have become so fearful, that the Gov’t tries to address every eventuality - and with the ensuing political and organizational complexity and huge cost of it all, fails at addressing any of them.
Therefore, political correctness prevents obvious steps, while a simple letter can shut down the mail system, a tainted bit of food will create panic at the grocery store, and an unknown bag can shut down an airport.
Because it is one of their biggest sources of revenue and adds to the volume they use to justify the continuance of the USPO.
It also creates jobs and I’m sure the junk mail industry has a FANTASTIC LOBBY in DC that fawns all over some damn politicians telling them how valuable all the crap they mail us is. They are all a bunch of (can’t say).
I think the terrorists have us pretty well figured out. Blow up something and kill people and we get mad and drop bombs on their camps and send snipers and Marines to kill them.
But, stage low-grade “attacks” where no one really gets hurt and we tear ourselves apart. We restrict our own movement and freedom, while refusing to touch them. Our weaker people (liberals) wring their hands crying “what did we do to deserve this?” while the stronger ones want to make the bastards pay and that sets the libs against us again with another round of “you’re intolerant and islamophobic”. In the end, we do damage to ourselves, while the muzzies just laugh and go back to humping their goats in a cave.
Because customers pay to have it delivered.
Are they still microwaving mail (anthrax) in the NE? They used to report batches that burned up. I missed two CC payments due to that.
My government mailman while lugging around 80 pounds of junk mail said if it were not for junk mail they could eliminate half of the tens of thousands of employees in the USPO.
My previous mailman retired early, at 37 years old, with multiple work related injury claims....
Who are paid by the revenues collected by providing the service.
Then why are they constantly raising rates?
Economic freedom, like all freedom, is messy. Let’s just deal with it. I don’t like junk mail either, but I do like economic freedom. I’m lucky though, I live in a small town and the postmistress keeps a trash can ready so we can through the junk away when we pick up our mail. She recycles it. No delivery in this town, you pick up your mail at the post office.
And why do you care? You can easily get off all the mailing lists, and other than your bills for overdue loans no one will send you anything.
I like my mail delivery daily, and love running my hands through it.
Thread about a package igniting at a DC Postal Facility. One poster is trying to turn it into another "lets hate the USPS" thread.
