Poll: Romney starts with big lead in New Hampshire

A new poll shows former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is the early frontrunner in New Hampshire, where he holds a commanding 23-point edge over his closest potential rival -- former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

The New Hampshire Journal poll, conducted by the Republican firm Magellan Strategies, found Romney comfortably at the head of the pack of rumored 2012 hopefuls with 39 percent of the vote.

He's followed by Palin at 16 percent, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee at 10 percent, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich at 8 percent and Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) at 7 percent.

Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty registers a disappointing 4 percent in the survey. That's barely ahead of former Sen. Rick Santorum, who comes in at 3 percent and Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, who polls just 1 percent.

Mitt Romney is the only man who can guarantee Obama a second term.

Romney will be the Republican nominee and the foreigner will be the president at least until 2012. Republicans do not have sufficient control of their primaries and the Democrats-reregistered-as-Republicans in alliance with the RNC and the GeorgeWill/Krauthammer section of the party will give us Romney in all his socialist glory. Romney will then give us again the kenyan. The Republican Old Guard demands this outcome and will make sure that the primaries are Democrat friendly.

This is a fake democrat mainstream media poll.

The media wants to pick the GOP candidate.

The liberal media is scared of the real leader in the polls , Palin.

Media darling . . . hence . . . worthless

Just like McLame, the RIM will push him to the front and then, once on the ticket, will unload all over him.

He’s worthless anyway you look at him.

Maybe nationally, but Mitt made sure he was leading the polls in NH and IA for like a year prior to the primaries. Then, he had his paid minions and useless idiots go to forums like FR and post about how unbeatable he was.

When it came down to rubber meeting the road, he was toast.

Let’s hope it ends with “Romney ends with a stinking lousy 5% in the polls”....

You need to keep in mind that 90% of the TV and 50% of the print news in NH comes out of MA. Romney also has a house in NH. We have been hearing about him ever since he almost beat Ted Kennedy for US Senate.

He just has better name recognition at this point than everyone else.

First, it was an autodial survey of likely 1,451 Republican
and independent and Mormon voters
by a firm that helps paid RINOs.

Second, want proof, and evidence of the worthlessness of such “polling”?:

"Recent polling from Magellan Strategies indicates
that both Governor Mitt Romney and Meg Whitman,
former CEO of eBay.com, are in early pole position
for their relative offices"

Romney will likely win NH, it is in his backyard. How he does in SC and FL will be key factors in his race. If he wins one of those, he likely will be the nominee.

The key to defeating Romney will be stopping him early.

“Mitt Romney is the only man who can guarantee Obama a second term.”

Agree. Romney is a RINO for sure. And, his Romney Care was the precursor to Obama Care. If Romney should win the GOP ticket it will guarantee the creation of a third party consisting of social conservatives and fiscal conservatives aka the TEA Party. My guess is that the split among the three would be about equal. So, don't know how that would play out at the congressional level. Guess it would depend on who decides to caucus with who. Would be interesting...
