Hahaha. They’ll make a run at us next, but thanks to Prop 13., redistricting, and the defeat of every tax measure...along with a recent history of recalls, I think we can hold them off.

I’ve seen the latest pics of Bush-hater Ronstadt, and she’s a cow...literally.

I think its the right time to do it because we are in desperate need of paying our bills, Cullerton told reporters. Wed have all our bills (paid) all those people owed money -- $8 billion will go back into the economy. People will be paid on time. Our credit rating will be dramatically improved. We will then have a balanced budget with virtually no growth for the next four years, he said. omgosh... what an arrogant ass this Cullerton is... who cares if taxpayers can't pay their bills and improve their credit ratings, as long as the state gets what it wants... this is sick...

It also would generate a $700 million-plus windfall for schools Uh, what exactly is the definition of windfall? I thought it was an unforeseen occurrence.
This is more like "Nobody move! This is a windfall! Everybody hand over their wallets."

Did these stupid “estimates” assume that the tax move wasn’t going to do squat to the overall economy (such as lessening the amount of money the population can spend and spurring flight to less taxing states)? I bet Springfield will be “shocked, shocked!” to find they aren’t getting nearly as much as they thought.

raise the rate 75% and get excited about a $325 refund? On a $50K income, 3% tax is $1500 - at 5%, it is $2500.
So, I am a net $675 bucks in the hole - SIGN ME UP, sounds good to me /sarc

LMAO!!!
The people of Illinois deserve exactly what they voted for.
Unfortunately, the scum there gave the rest of the nation Ubama, Durbin, and Kirk.

I’m betting there is some real shoulda, coulda, woulda going on in the Boeing boardroom for their decision to go move to Chicago as opposed to Dallas. Not a smart move on their part......

I wouldn’t cross the river into Illinois if you paid me to do so. I became a free man when I started carrying, and they’re not going to take that away from me. My money stays in MO.
