What exactly is the point of bills like this?

Especially with bills like 0bamacare, we conservatives need to show the public that the dim led Congress gave us BAD legislation and we intend to repeal them; bring up and vote on these bills monthly, let 0bama veto them, hopefully people will remember, and you're right, defunding is a must.

“I agree that the Internet faces a number of challenge, ” Blackburn said in a release. “Only Congress can address those challenges without compounding them. Until we do, the FCC and other federal bureaucracies should keep their hands off the ‘net.” and members of congress should do the same.

The government destroys everything they touch so stay away and the net will be a better place without government involvement.

Rep. Marsha Blackburn introduced legislation Wednesday to deny the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulatory oversight over the Internet, which the Tennessee Republican insisted was the “sole prerogative of Congress” to administer.

Blood will flow in the streets of D.C....

Indeed. No more go-along-to-get-along, we-just-want-the-Democrats-to-like-us weak-kneed compromise of principle.

I just hope that this is a gathering trend, and not a flash in the pan. Time to do to the Dems what they've been doing to us for...well, forever.

A poster on another thread pointed out that we need to be supporting these folks as much as we can- because you know the Moonbats will be flooding them with angry calls and emails. If that's all that they hear, then we will lose momentum- or worse.

Nation Endowment of the Arts, Planned Parenthood, goverment “charity” to other countries, Corporation for Public Broadcasting, et al.

It may be the road less traveled but we still have the power of the override.

Number two...we have got to start making some very loud noise ....

we have to wake up the rest of America before the Presidential Primaries.

I love it.

Some of these bills are going to be battle royale's with Obiongo, but that is ok, because for the next 2 years they will be explaining what we are, and maybe just maybe it will even get by the lame stream media that we are a Consitutionally Limited Republic and many of these functions are not needed and we are broke, so let's stop them.

But more importantly they will be the political equivalent of death by a thousand cuts to the Regime as the lumber towards 2012' with these milstones around their neck dragging them down. This will wear on them IMHO more than we know, you think he is skinny now...

Are we sure Any Gov’t agency will listen to Congress anymore?

After all we’re talking about “social justice” here, so, can’t the “law” and Constitution just be ignored????

>What exactly is the point of bills like this? Even if they can get them through the Senate, the President isn’t going to sign! “Defunding” is the only real control they can have.

It is a good idea to clearly stake out their position and to make the other side defend theirs. It may not actually do anything immediately, but it is good politics and principles.
