Just when it looked like employers were getting less fearful about what President Obama might do next to worsen the business climate, the National Labor Relations Board (now with its first Democratic majority in a decade, thanks to Obama's appointees) has announced that private employers will be required to display pro-unionizing posters in their businesses under a newly proposed federal rule.
"The planned rule," reported the Associated Press, "would require businesses to post notices in employee break rooms or other prominent locations to explain workers' rights to bargain collectively, distribute union literature or engage in other union activities without reprisal."
The posters don't explain that the largest reprisal against collectivized labor and unionism comes from the public by way of lower sales and then fewer jobs when prices of products and services are hiked in order to pay for the escalating costs of higher wages, benefits and pensions.
In the U.S. auto industry, for instance, unionized factory workers have paid a steep price for the public's reprisal against overcompensated employees and subsequently overpriced cars. In decades when both the U.S. population and the domestic car market were significantly expanding, active membership in the United Auto Workers (UAW) dropped from 1.5 million in the late 1970s to 390,000 in 2010.
General Motors, losing two-thirds of its U.S. market share, falling from nearly 60% in 1970 to its current 20%, now employs 52,000 hourly workers in America, down 89% from 468,000 in 1970

Precisely. The Dems will do ANYTHING to thwart the voters' will.
Put one of those in my office and it will soon entertain some new artistry. AFTER the videocam source is redirected to a static still.
We are already living under tyranny, get used to it because by and large Americans are lazy, fat, cowards and will do nothing to stop our enslavement.
Post it on every “Exit” door. That way they won’t possibly miss it on their way out.
The government isn’t even trying to be covert about shilling for the unions anymore. The GOP and/or TEA Party should simply outlaw unions.

F&&k*ng unions, I know all about them, the public service union runs Australia, btw, here is a little known factoid that most Americans do Not know, or if told they slack jaw in amazement...
The Labor party of Australia is the Communist Party, and has been since inception.
When they took the guns from Australians, they then stripped our country of it’s freedom.

I'm ignorant of the law on this.
Do any of you Freepers know for sure that there is LAW that supports this statement? It was my understanding that no employer, under any circumstances, was required by law to allow organizing.
“What companies should do is display a set of their own posters alongside the government’s one-sided propaganda for unionism, for full disclosure.”
Maybe we need an independent worker’s poster showing were the union dues end up. Fat Cat union bosses and pension invested in corrupt bad “ideas” like “green energy”.
Not a bad idea: if companies must post such crap, post it in Russian!
Just take away the special privileges that federal legislation have given unions and they’d go away by themselves.
