Well that's just plain willful ignorance. There's a paucity of evidence all of the poor quality for either side of his claim of birth in Hawaii.

However in re Obama's status as a "natural born citizen" the evidence is indeed overwhelming. Overwhelmingly that he is NOT a natural born citizen.

Abercrombie witnessed the crumbling of Barack Obama Sr. during a trip to Africa in 1968. He and a mutual friend from Hawaii stayed with their old pal in Nairobi. “It was clear to us how disappointed he was,” Abercrombie recalls. “He was drinking. There was a bitterness in him, an edge.”

0 may well have a Hawaiian birth certificate, such as they were in those days. But anyone who takes the time to study birth registration laws c.1961 in Hawaii knows that anybody, ANYBODY could have gotten a birth certificate simply on a relative’s say-so that the child was born in HI via home birth or whatever. That was a carry-over from pre-statehood days when the object was to pump up the Hawaiian population figures in order to get into the union as a state, which took place in 1959. Lots of Asian agricultural workers claim Hawaiian birth as a result. 0 may have such a funky BC, which is why he keeps it hidden.

In any case the newspaper announcements are weak evidence for a number of reasons. The Department of Health issued such releases for any birth reported, including birth reports personally attested by one individual. Thus some party may have reported a false place of birth at the time. Why? To be sure of to gain the manifold benefits of US citizenship, and also to gain the many benefits of native Hawaiian birth, which accorded of itself a number of preferential treatments. For example, admission to the elite Punahou Preparatory school.

The media is trying to say that we're all pretty much convinced that obama is a NBC, because the fervor about it has died down some.

But it probably has some to do with lawyers getting fined $20,000 for bringing it to court or Army Colonels getting jailed for questioning it.
