Congressional supporters of the new policy, though pleased, have kept quiet. They fear provoking another furor like the one in 2009 when Republicans seized on the idea of end-of-life counseling to argue that the Democrats’ bill would allow the government to cut off care for the critically ill.

Just what else do these idiots think "end of life planning" means?

"Under the new policy, outlined in a Medicare regulation, the government will pay doctors who advise patients "

Expending funds not authorized by the US Congress is illegal.

I believe Boner will call them on it too....

End of life planning and treatment is to be discussed with a doctor AND government should not be in the health care business. What that means though is that government agencies are not cutting checks to hospitals to pay people’s health care tab.

This hysteria about pulling the plug on granny is the other side of the same coin when liberals talk about having to take care of people through government means.

...

“The final version of the health care legislation, signed into law by President Obama in March, authorized Medicare coverage of yearly physical examinations, or wellness visits. The new rule says Medicare will cover “voluntary advance care planning,” to discuss end-of-life treatment, as part of the annual visit. “

Yes, each time you go fro your yearly exam you will be reminded to think about you END OF LIFE PLAN.

...

Mr. Blumenauer, the author of the original end-of-life proposal, praised the rule as “a step in the right direction.”

“It will give people more control over the care they receive,” Mr. Blumenauer said in an interview. “It means that doctors and patients can have these conversations in the normal course of business, as part of our health care routine, not as something put off until we are forced to do it.”

Yes, they will desensitize you to it.

I read through this trying to find business of government anywhere, but found none.

My health isn’t any of the government’s business unless I am an asset in inventory such as say a slave or something along those lines.

I’m NOT a slave......I think.

It beats being herded into an oven I suppose, but only slightly. The Obamanation rolls on! I shudder to think what the stinking RINOs are going to help him do in the NEXT two years.

I just hope those who are denied medical care because they are seniors scream loud and clear that they will die or be seriously impaired because they are not receiving life saving treatment. The liberal media will be silent. Yet, when Democrats were drumming up support for prescription coverage under Medicare during the Bush administration, the media was parading seniors front and center saying they were having to choose between food and drugs.

The silence on this issue will be deafening.

Cost containment eventually will require the enforcement of some end of life protocol. This is step one.

But the Obama administration will achieve the same goal by regulation, starting Jan. 1.

Under the new policy, outlined in a Medicare regulation, the government will pay doctors who advise patients on options for end-of-life care, which may include advance directives to forgo aggressive life-sustaining treatment.

What liberals cannot achieve by legislation, they will try to achieve by Judicial Fiat. If they fail at judicial fiat, they will work through unelected bureaucracies that, in essence, write legislation.

If they fail in these ways, they work through the culture in a "drip" fashion, until their goals become "acceptable".

Republicans who think this jackass is someone who will "move to the center" or act in "good faith" after his ass-kicking in November are ignoramuses. Hussein and his allies need to CRUSHED in the arena of ideas--NO COMPROMISE.
