I remember that one. We were living in Chesterfield west of St. Louis. I was HS at the time and was in the garage working on some project. The shaking was very puzzling until Dad came running into the garage yelling “Earthquake! Get out!”

So, after graduating from Mizzou, I moved to California to enjoy the real quakes.

I was living on the KY side of that quake. It was kinda a big deal to see the shifted houses, etc. Seems like it was a 6.0 something on the Richter scale.

“Wonder if it’s part of the big New Madrid fault”

The New Madrid fault included(es) Northeast Arkansas.
