The House has a lot more power than most people realize, for instance, should the Senate Rats change the rules the House could::

1.Immediately begin Impeachment proceedings against ALL JUDGES confirmed under the new rules and never let them be seated. This should be done for Most Federal Judges right now anyway, as well as both of Hussein’s recent picks on the USSC. Who cares if the Senate removes them, Have the TRIAL ANYWAY, and then have another, and another, STOP THE SENATE COLD, they are powerless without the HOUSE.

2.Immediately REMOVE ALL FUNDING for the Senate Staffers as well as Senate Travel, meals......The only thing required in the Constitution is their PAY, nothing else.

3. Every Bill passed by the House and sent to the Senate could contain a provision for NO AMENDMENTS, couple that with Single Issue bills, and the Senate is irrelevant.

4. They could REFUSE to take up ANY SENATE BUSINESS INDEFINITELY, or until the Rules are more to their liking.

There is actually quite a bit the House could do to show the Marxist’s in the Senate who really runs the show, the question is WILL THEY??? I for one do not have much HOPE that things will CHANGE for the better in the future. We have already witnessed first hand that the Ruling Class can easily corrupt almost anyone fairly quickly. See Scott Brown.

THE HOUSE TRULY DOES RUN THE SHOW, if they realized it.

This is a naked power grab by liberals in the Senate pure and simple.

The libs have got to sense their own demise. They have got to know that they are hated. This is a politically suicidal move that will advance their power for only a short time.

They are going to push the idea that a simple majority of the Senate can abolish the filibuster rules, or radically change the rules, in a new Congress.

Why can't they?

Of course they can. There are very few unchecked powers granted by us in the Constitution, but the power of each House to make its own rules is one of them.

Of course, since the Democrats are going to be in the minority for a generation starting in January 2013, they would perhaps be unwise to do this - but "the idea that a simple majority of the Senate can abolish the filibuster rule" doesn't have to be "pushed" - it's just the simple truth.

If McConnell stands there and takes this he should be run out on a rail. If he fails to stand there and list all the times the dems used this against Bush and the GOP he should be tarred and feathered, as well.

If he does none of these things we will know that the U.S. is at its end...

Actually, I’m pretty sure there was back in the 1800’s. I recall reading about how it ended. I’ll try to dredge it up.

House of Representatives
In the United States House of Representatives, the filibuster (the right to unlimited debate) was used until 1842, when a permanent rule limiting the duration of debate was created. The disappearing quorum was a tactic used by the minority until an 1890 rule eliminated it. As the membership of the House grew much larger than the Senate, the House has acted earlier to control floor debate and the delay and blocking of floor votes.

They are also setting the table to make it easier to sieze control of the Supreme Court

Checks and balances just went out the window. They are bound and determined to make this a dictatorship.

Obama will continue in his agenda...and he doesn’t need nor care about Congress. They just haven’t figured that out yet.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t changes like this require 67 votes in the Senate? With 47 Republicans, they would need 14 of them along with all Dems to make this happen, right?

I’ll refrain from commenting what I really think, except to say that a day may be coming to make a very physical example of some of these criminals.

You noticed the 600 pound gorilla in the room.

I believe anything that costs money has to to through the house. It there is no price tag, only the senate needs to vote.

This is why commissions created by Obizzle get senate confirmation and not house confirmation.

So defunding these agencies are the only weapons the house has.

I don’t believe they can change Senate rules without 67 votes. Besides, even if they did, it won’t help them. Republicans could very easily have a majority after 2012.

In the House, a simple majority has always been able to get anything to the floor.

I believe any pending house bills are dead with the start of the new congress.
