"It is a heavy missile and one of the most dangerous in the region, which was also fired toward the IDF during the Lebanon War," Ashkenazi added.
"We hold the Hamas as the party responsible in the Gaza Strip," Ashkenazi said, holding the militant group which took over the coastal enclave in a bloody coup in 2007 as responsible for firing the anti-tank missile.

The Russians were nice enough to provide these to Iraq prior to Iraqi Freedom, as well.
In other words the tanks armor held. Failing to penetrate the inner armor means no one was hurt.
Ping.
The only way Israel will ever have peace is after the carpet bombing of the Gaza Strip.
Remember that story about a tiny projectile (like 1/4 inch diameter) that somehow penetrated one of our front-line tanks during Operation Iraqi Freedom? IIRC, no crew member was injured, but it was alarming that it even got through to the crew compartment.
I’ve never heard any more about it. Could this be a related phenomenon?
Yes, an M1 and it penetrated somewhere on the hull right above or under the thread, I think. The suspect at the time was the Kornet. I seem to remember that a number of those had recently been sold to Iran or Syria.
Was that taken in Detroit?
Yeah, and try to find good info about it on the ‘net now too!
But on a serious note, the M1-A1 was penetrated form the side, just under the turret lip — pretty lightly armoured there.
