The Russians were nice enough to provide these to Iraq prior to Iraqi Freedom, as well.

In other words the tanks armor held. Failing to penetrate the inner armor means no one was hurt.

Remember that story about a tiny projectile (like 1/4 inch diameter) that somehow penetrated one of our front-line tanks during Operation Iraqi Freedom? IIRC, no crew member was injured, but it was alarming that it even got through to the crew compartment.

I’ve never heard any more about it. Could this be a related phenomenon?
