Julian Assange like a hi-tech terrorist, says Joe Biden
The Guardian ^ | 19 December 2010 | Ewen MacAskill

The US vice-president, Joe Biden, today likened the WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to a "high-tech terrorist", the strongest criticism yet from the Obama administration.

Biden claimed that Assange has put lives at risk and made it more difficult for the US to conduct its business around the world.

His description of Assange shows a level of irritation that contrasts with more sanguine comments from other senior figures in the White House, who said the leak of diplomatic cables has not done serious damage.

Interviewed on NBC's Meet the Press, Biden was asked if the administration could prevent further leaks, as Assange warned last week. "We are looking at that right now. The justice department is taking a look at that," Biden said, without elaborating.

The justice department is struggling to find legislation with which to prosecute Assange.

Asked if what Assange had done was criminal, Biden seemed to suggest it would be considered criminal if it could be established that the WikiLeaks founder had encouraged or helped Bradley Manning, the US private suspected of being behind the leak. Biden claimed this was different from a journalist receiving leaked material

While Assange might be a “hi-tech terrorist”, 0bamarx, Joe Biden, and their klatch of communist statists are “low-life terrorists”.

The Obama administration is angry at Assange because the Wikileaks do not support their liberal fantasies.

>>other senior figures in the White House, who said the leak of diplomatic cables has not done serious damage.<<

Because they simply do not care about America’s reputation around the world.

I agree with “Smok’in Joe” with all his years involved in the senate, he certainly knows all about terrorists, both foreign and domestic.

Agreed to some extent. Whomever gave him the material to disseminate, however, is more so a terrorist.

Although I am sort of riding the fence, having mixed feeling about the wholesale demonization of this person, as dispicable and unethical as what he’s done. I think we need to be careful about what the things we might do to him would mean to supression of information that should be within the public domain and legitimate political dissent. I am by no means defending what he did, but things like this have a way of getting out of hand to where we could lose the freedom of discourse.

Biden’s just mad because the word is out that his Wiki leaks. This guy is not to be taken seriously on any subject, at any time. He’s not even smart enough to be a real good liar, for Pete’s sake!

LOL!! The irony is too thick!

The Popular mantra of liberal trash media has always been: “Confront Power with Truth.”

Shoe not so nice on your feet, Joe?

No blame of course for the administration that allowed the leaking to happen in the first place.

lol I believe that to be true they started to hate him not about Iraq but after he said 9/11 was not a conspiracy and then went on to make obama look bad, oh and it really riled them up when he let the world know how the Arabs really feel about Iran.

Not a terrorist, but an extortionist and an infowar combatant, and he is kicking our butts. He can release or invent whatever “cables” he feels like, redact names or not, it’s all in his hands. And our response is apologies from Hillary.

Curious how the focus is always on the site that hosted the stolen national secret and NOT the man who committed the Federal Crime and Treason by stealing them.

I think this whole thing is a distraction and a means to and end for “Net Neutrality”. Just like amnesty, it’s a political tool and avoids the REAL issue or root cause.

There is a reason these leaks occurred. First, Biden is a moron plagiarist and frankly a liar. The leaks, it was immediately noticed, in every case benefited anti-US sentiment, and have nothing to do with freedom of information and everything to do with breaking down relations between countries. Assange is funded by somebody big, possibly the chinese and/or soros. This could not just happen. In view of what obama admin thinks of the US they may have allowed this to go on— all the while outraged Joe is the patsy who puts a face on the two faced ruse.

He didn’t become a terrorist until he threatened the banks.

Within 24 hours of saying he was going to release information on the banking industry, they shut down his web site, Interpol put him on the most wanted list and the Canadian PM publiclly said he wanted him assinated.

All the supposed world leadersvare doing are protecting their boss (banking industry).
The sooner he releases the info on the banks the sooner the truth will come out as to how they have screwed up every corner of the earth.

Bet on it

Biden said, without elaborating.

Safer that way, fewer chances to prove one's self a drooling moron. Again.

Don’t be fooled. Obama and the gang are not the least bit upset by Wikileaks, and, most probably, were in on the leaks. (Tell me, how did a private get access to the leaked materials.)

Now, the Obamunists are hoping, people will be calling for the government to crack down on the Internet, thus shutting down “terrorists” such as FReepers and Tea Party types.

Joe Biden must’ve plagiarized some news article to even grasp the concept of high tech. Biden is lucky to string a subject and verb together without a gaffe.

Biden: “Stand-up, Chuck (guy in wheelchair) . . . Let's all stand-up FOR Chuck.”

This whole issue smells, who overrode the security protocols that allowed a private to download such massive information. Why did obama not immediately put a stop to the releases? Does obama’s personal records have a higher security clearance than our national intelligence records. Any attempts to access obama’s records are immediately blocked and the Secret Service is knocking on someone door within hours.
