Saw him play in an old-timers game in the 80s.

He threw out the first pitch in Cleveland this April, so he was able to live life to the end.

He will be missed.

Saw him play in his early prime. What a MAN..gave up very easily his early MLB years to join our military... Same as Ted, but Ted’s joining was a year or two later iirc. My God..American STUDS..Feller fighting as an anti aircraft gunner in the south pacific in WW2 and Ted flying Fighters in the Korean War facing fire.

It was a good pitch too, high and inside to a righthanded batter, just like old times! He threw a stronger pitch at 91 than obama did at 47 or whatever the F his age is.

I also saw him pitch in an old-timers’ game. Wonder if we were at the same game. I think Camilio Pascua also pitched in the game I saw. Believe it was in Baltimore.
