Real sad. I heard a recent interview with him back during the summer of 2010 on WFAN in N.Y. Feller served aboard the U.S.S. Alabama during WWII. If I can find the interview I will link to it. I wish everybody here could have heard it. Thank you for your service and rest in peace Bob.

Yes, Feller spent four years in the Navy during the War which would have been prime years for his pitching career. Imagine any of our spoiled millionaire children of today doing that. Imagine what his record might have been if he had done the easy thing and stayed home and gotten fat on war-years batting.
