'All Hell' breaking loose in Senate over budget

An unidentified GOP source told Fox News Tuesday that "All hell is breaking loose" in the Senate over a 1,924-page spending bill that includes 20,000 earmark requests.

Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) and Jim DeMint (R-SC) will likely demand the omnibus bill be read in its entirety on the Senate floor prior to a vote.

Fox News reported the bill - described as "a total mess" - is intended to cover the rest of the current fiscal year. If passed, the bill would become law without any debate in the Senate.

Sen. Daniel Inouye (D-HI), Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, said the bill must pass:

"The twelve bills included in this package fulfill the Congress' most basic responsibility, to exercise the power of the purse," he said in a statement. "This measure reflects a year's worth of work by members of both parties. Together, we have closely scrutinized the president's budget request, held hundreds of hearings, thousands of meetings, and asked literally tens of thousands of questions to each and every federal department and agency seeking justification for how taxpayer dollars are being spent."

But in a statement released Tuesday, John Cornyn (R-TX) said the Democrats - who still control both chambers of Congress - have "already forgotten the voters' message in November."

John McCain echoed that sentiment, saying:

“That omnibus bill will be loaded down with earmarks and pork barrel spending, which is a direct — a direct — betrayal of the majority of voters on Nov. 2 who said ‘Stop the earmarking, stop the spending, stop the pork barrel projects"

Another 2,000 pages, another 20,000 requests for pork - there's better be all hell breaking loose in the Senate. Democrats just don't get it, do they - they lost in November.

The way that Washington is acting is completely out of control, neglecting the will of the American people en masse.

I think the time has passed for passive resistance now because Washington is not paying attention and is now engaged in actively working against the wishes of the American people.

I think the time is coming and coming very very soon for an armed populace to march on Washington in order to take the country back from the communist dictators now in charge of our government and the US Congress.

Wow. How could 100 Senators have written 20,000 earmarks so fast? Especially when they only work 3 days a week.

They knew the majority of the public was against their socialist schemes, earmarks, and deficit spending before the election so no reason to expect them to be any different after it. The public be damned should be their motto.

It had better be. But let this stand as a testament to the blatant disregard for the ballot box folks.

Okay. So let me see if I understand this correctly. If there was a tax cut in this bill, the RATS would be demanding explanations how they would be paid for, right?

Obviously the implication is that taxes would have to be raised somewhere else to pay for whatever tax cuts might be included.

Alright, then. So how are these earmarks going to be paid for? In other words, what taxes are going to be raised to pay for these projects?

Any senator and representative who votes in favor of this legislation should be voted out of office as soon as possible.

Take note America and take down their names.

Remember the names. Memorize them.

Then when the time comes vote them out. Vote them all out who vote to pass it.

And when they read the bloody bill, they need to NAME NAMES as to who has filled this bill with pork...pubbies as well as dims so we KNOW who they are.
If it’s worth putting in the bill, it’s worth defending to the American people...
cowardly congress critters.

You think they actually write anything?

Nah. I was being facetious.

They have staff to write.

With some minor input from whatever lobbyist is calling for whatever project, I'm sure.

The “staff” write these things in collusion with lobbyists. Most of the “staff” are ideologues and naive 20-somethings who need their asses kicked by earning a living (figuratively, of course). These subhumans are disgusting.

Especially when they only work 3 days a week.

You use the term very casually, to refer to what these asshats do as "work".
