“stamp will always be valid for mailing a 1-ounce first-class letter, the U.S. Postal Service said.”
Why would we EVER send a letter with any other stamp again!? Stock up!

Why would we EVER send a letter with any other stamp again!? Stock up! Exactly my thought. Maybe I'll drive over to the Berkeley Post Office and buy a couple hundred there. Should make the bone-heads go crazy.

Because much as I appreciate Reagan, we cannot forget the exceptional Nativity stamps that are issued every year.

“Stock up!” = A Good Idea!

Why would we EVER send a letter with any other stamp again!? Stock up! Forever stamps have been available for several years. However, the USPS announced in December that beginning in January 2011 all stamps will be forever stamps.
AP: All first-class stamps to be 'forever' from now on
Another era is coming to an end: Denominated first-class postage stamps.
Starting next month, all new stamps will be labeled "forever," a U.S. Postal Service official tells the Associated Press. Forevers eliminate the need to add 1- and 2-cent stamps when rates change, which apparently has been a challenge for snail-mailers, said the official, who asked not be named because Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe isn't scheduled to officially announce the new policy until Jan. 14.
I still have a few that I bought when stamps were $.42. I send very little first class mail so a book of stamps will last me a couple of years.
