Irony alert: The unusually chilly global-warming summit

Cancun is hosting the U.N. conference on man-made climate change — amid record cold temperatures

Best Opinion:  Wall St. Pit, Independent

The irony: As negotiators from nearly 200 countries met in Cancun to strategize ways to keep the planet from getting hotter, the temperature in the seaside Mexican city plunged to a 100-year record low of 54° F. Climate-change skeptics are gleefully calling Cancun's weather the latest example of the "Gore Effect" — a plunge in temperature they say occurs wherever former Vice President Al Gore, now a Nobel Prize-winning environmental activist, makes a speech about the climate. Although Gore is not scheduled to speak in Cancun, "it could be that the Gore Effect has announced his secret arrival," jokes former NASA scientist Roy W. Spencer.
The reaction:
ClimateGate was "bad enough," says Duncan Davidson in Wall Street Pit, but Cancun's weather is particularly "inconvenient" for global-warming alarmists. It's a reminder that global temperatures have "flatlined" despite rising carbon dioxide levels, "which is decidedly chilling against the concept of hampering economic growth to limit Co2 emissions." Grow up, says Tony Juniper in The Independent. "Sure, it's cold outside," but "the trend data show that the world is warming, that the climate is changing, and that the release of greenhouse gases is the cause." The longer we use every cold snap as an excuse to put off reducing emissions, "the bigger the risk we run. Tick tock, tick tock."

Not unexpected. It seems like most of the Global Warming summits have been plagued by unseasonably cold weather over the years. They call it the Gore Effect. I call it God’s little joke.

Well, why wouldn’t they meet at a vacation spot?

Ha Ha! They probably had it in Cancun for a little fun in the warm sun, and they can’t even bring out their bikinis! Our God does indeed have a sense of humor!

Given their track record for the weather at their events, the Lord must not like greenies much. Or He has a sense of humor.

Gore spoke in Sioux falls, SD few years ago during January and the following week we had record breaking cold. Maybe we should start to say “Gore’s fault” every time we have record cold and snow.

Jack Nicholson - The Shining

These guys could be sitting in the maze frozen in a block of ice and their last words would still be, “Oh come on! Grow up! This is nothing!”

They have such a vested in this crapola being real that for them it “has” to be real regardless of reality. Lol such fools

The Libtard fruitcakes need to pray more fervently to Ixchel than they did when
they opened their freak show. A virgin sacrifice would also help, provided they
could find one somewhere.

Pretty funny. They scheduled in a tropical locale to avoid the embarrassment of cold weather. And they got cold weather.

Set a record for cold on Wednesday here in South Florida. Night was supposedly in the high 30’s, day in the 50’s. Brrrrr! It was one of those coldest “December 8” ever type records, but still. That doesn’t happen with global warming.

“Gore Effect” has a page on wikipedia. It’s really pretty startling how cold weather follows the Warming guys around. They can’t catch a break.

It's as if the planet is trying to tell these idiots something. A person would have to be completely out of touch with the environment to miss all of these signals.

Global Warming guru Algore – wearing his ever present Nobel medal – is seen here en-route to an important “scientific” conference in Nassau hosted by the UN/IPCC where he was to be the keynote speaker.

Topics on the agenda were to have included “Finding a Good Bail Bondsman,” “Not ALL Criminal Lawyers Are Sharks,” “Changing Careers for Dummies,” “You Want Fries With That?,” “How To Encrypt Emails,” “The Best Prison Jobs,” “Getting Along With Your Cellmate” and “Getting Used to Sleeping On Your Back.”

A sudden – and unfortunate – blast of what the “scientist” in charge of the conference termed “global warming” caused the meeting to be rescheduled until Algore can be thawed some time next Spring – assuming there will BE one.

Our reporter has learned that the influential conservative web site Free Republic has launched a contribution drive to rent a freezer locker in which to keep Gore for the 10 to 15 years estimated it will take for the so-called “mainstream media” to begin covering the Climategate story.

This is hilarious. When I first read about this summit I started praying. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I prayed that it would be cold, in fact I prayed it would be one of the coldest days they'd ever had. Personally, I think this whole global cooling is a God thing.

1 Corinthians 3:19-21 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. For it is written, “He is THE ONE WHO CATCHES THE WISE IN THEIR CRAFTINESS”;and again, “THE LORD KNOWS THE REASONINGS of the wise, THAT THEY ARE USELESS.” So then let no one boast in men. For all things belong to you,

Perhaps this Tony Juniper should grow up a bit and learn how to read and wade through all the stuff we have been reading for the past year plus. The fool is dealing in his head with preconceived ideas put out by people who where not even real scientist for the most part.
