BERKELEY, Calif. — The Berkeley City Council will consider a resolution that would declare the Army private suspected of leaking classified information to WikiLeaks a hero and call for his release.

The council plans a vote Tuesday on the resolution in support of Pfc. Bradley Manning, who is being held in a military brig in Virginia. A city commission already has approved it.

Bob Meola, who authored the resolution, tells the San Francisco Chronicle that Manning is a patriot who deserves a medal.

Federal officials have criticized the leaks, saying they could endanger lives.

If someone sent me a resume that had graduate of Burkley on it, it would be file 13’d. I would never have a graduate of that disgrace work for me.

Heis a faggot traitor who deserves to be hanged.

But I understand fully how Berkely feels about him. Most of them are the same.

Berkeley is not part of the United States.

PFC Manning needs to be found in his cell, hung dead from an “apparent suicide”.

“Accused”?

He’s bragged of his efforts, the manner in which he acted (miming that he was singing along to Lady Gaga on his compuer), and it’s been suggested that he did this as revenge on the military for the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy.

He’s guilty of naked treason and should be tried as an Enemy of the State with the full measure of punishment for such crimes.

Does any American or anyone with a shred of intelligence care what Berkely does?

Licentious is the word that comes to mind every time I read something related to this city or University.

I have a suggestion for them:

Come to Virginia and try to break him out of the brig...

Please.

Those folks in Berkeley disgust me.While picketing the Marine recruiting office ,one Berkeleyite said;”he would rather live next door to a pedophile, than have the Marines in Berkeley”.Just a bunch of dangerous vermin.

Anybody who has helped Assange has given both aid and comfort to an enemy of the United States. The capital penalty for treason should apply.

Assange has committed acts of war against the United States. He should be hunted down as an unlawful enemy combatant, and he should be killed if he resists capture. Or if captured, he should be subject to whatever maximum punishment is consistent with the Geneva Conventions.

Moreover, those who defend Manning or Assange — like the Berkeley council and Rep. Ron Paul — are clearly giving comfort to enemies of the United States. If their actions ever cross the line between “comfort” and “aid” then they too would seem to be guilty of treason.

I worked around an “engineer” that had a degree from Berserkley. I say around, not with. She must have minored in identity politics. She cheered when the tanks mowed down the protestors in Tien An Mein Square.

I will not hire any engineer from Berserkley, University of Colorado, or University of Minnesota (and I’m in Minnesota).

Insanity! This is just one of the reasons I packed up my family and moved them to Piedmont in 1968 and then to TX in 1973. I’ve never looked back.

Berkeley used to be such a beautiful place...Are they still throwing excrement from the trees near Memorial Stadium?

Even among the folks who live in the Bay Area, Berkeley is considered insane. They've had their own foreign policy since Vietnam.

My dad remembered the Young Commies from U.C. who used to ride around in a hay wagon in the early '50's. The latest Russian industrial triumph on display. Back then, most folks just laughed or didn't pay them any mind.

Now that’s an intelligent comment! I graduated from UC Berkeley in 1965 in Mechanical Engineering. At the time, it was the third-ranked engineering school in the country. That education was a door-opener for me to jobs engineers from lesser institutions could not hope to get. At that time, the Physical Sciences were as divorced from the rest of the campus goings on as you could imagine. Instead of encouraging us to join in the ongoing Socialist/Marxist melee, our professors counseled us to stay away lest we damage our ability to get meaningful jobs. At the same time, I have grown to hate the place for it’s premier roll in the destruction of our country. But for you to suggest you won’t hire a graduate from UC because of it’s leftist bent takes discrimination to a new level, With your moronic idea you’d have a hard time hiring anyone given the fact that most public universities are modeled afer UC,

Berkley has finally gone too far. These officials need to be removed from office, barred from serving in any capacity at any level of government, and everyone in that town should have to take an IQ test before being allowed to vote.
