A University of Colorado student who started wearing hijab after converting to Islam is fighting the Boulder County Jail's insistence that she remove her headscarf for a booking photo, saying that to do so would violate her religious beliefs.
Maria Hardman, 19, of Boulder, reported to the jail Wednesday to do the paperwork for a two-day work crew sentence that was supposed to be served this weekend. But when a jail detention officer told her to remove her headscarf for her mug shot, she balked.
"It's stated in the Koran in two or three places that believing women should wear the veil, except in the company of close family members," she said.
Hardman said she spent three hours at the jail while her lawyer tried to convince officials to let her take the picture with her scarf. She eventually was allowed to leave the jail without taking a picture at all. She said she was told she would be found in contempt of court for being out of compliance with her sentence.

Poor kitten, it’s trying to get away, and she just wants it for dinner.
Thank God we don’t have any of those ragheads in our county. I’ve never seen s single one. I don’t think they feel too welcome down here. The only time I’ve seen any was one car of them, tourists. The local cops had them pulled over and were checking out the inside of their car and the trunk. I don’t think they feel to welcome here.

If she's that devout then shouldn't she be able to quote chapter and verse on why she has to wear the veil? But she isn't sure how many time's it's mentioned.
From what I’ve read, there’s nothing in the Koran that requires burkas, etc. In the case of Muslim women, two mug shots should be required, with and without head covered. It’s for ID purposes, after all.
The Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles and the U.S. State Department allow people whose religious beliefs require head-covering to have headwear on in driver's license and passport photos.

This one is apparently here because she was born here and was stupid enough to convert. Why and how an attractive young American female can be idiot enough to do that is beyond me.
She didn’t come to this country - she was here! She converted. Her name is Lisa Hardman.
She is apparently an American girl who converted to islam at the tender age of 16. This is even more troubling. I would like to know the story of her conversion.
The muslims, and CAIR is on scene already I am sure.
