I just had an epiphany.
Okay, maybe I’m a little slow...but I think I’ve figured out what’s going on now...
They are afraid of Sarah because they think she might be able to win, and...
THEY DON’T WANT TO WIN IN 2012.
They want Jeb Bush in 2016.
Seriously, the establishment wants Jeb Bush, but they realize 2012 is still a little too close to GW’s disaster.
They need a democrat in office until 2016...the economy won’t be turned around yet (especially if democrat policies are in place) and then Jeb can be anointed.
This is all about extending the Bush dynasty.
They know a squish like Romney can’t win. They know Sarah would be as popular as Reagan, winning in a landslide. That’s why they have to push the ‘she’s not electable’ narrative...because if they don’t...if people suddenly realize she’s not this dim bulb caricature but a real and genuine conservative...she will keep Jeb out of the White House until 2024.
Remember, poppa Bush always thought that Reagan kept him from the White House for eight years and said so on different occasions. They have real scorn for populist conservatives.

I beg to differ. Bill Clinton was a participant in cat fights including one with Jesse Jackson and many with the “Bimbos”
I don’t want to belabor the point because I agree with you that it’s not that important - I would just add the blue blood label is not completely unfair given the generations of Bushs that have put their mark on the country’s policies.

I NEVER admired Rove. I saw him as a ham handed political hack from the beginning.
I will admit I saw him as a potentially useful ham handed hack at one point but that phase passed rather quickly.
I loved it when Rove was listing off the Republican presidential hopefuls and Laura kept interjecting “and Bush?”, “and Bush?”. Rove deigned not to notice.

Listening to that, and Karl’s ignoring the comment, is what led me to my conclusion.
It all makes sense to me now.

They know a stiff like Romney has no chance, and a populist like Palin, once people saw who she really is and not the phony caricature, would be as wildly popular as Reagan was. Just look how popular she was as Alaska’s governor...93% approval rating?
They HAVE to stop her or their dreams of Jeb will have to wait until 2024.

All this nasty stuff from the ‘bluebloods’ is to destroy Sarah because they know she would win and she is a threat to Jeb’s ascension in 2016.

If we (as conservatives) vote for anyone other than Palin, it is a defacto vote for Romney, and ultimately, for the democrat - whoever that might be.

The guy who almost destroyed the republican party during the Bush years should withdraw into a cave somewhere or just declare hi is a closet leftist and be done with it. He behaves just like a democrat... calls somebody names ( McDonnel, Palin) then goes crybaby when they respond. This POS is so pathetic he makes me puke. There should be a Barf Alert on any subject that is quoting him.
