I guess they’ll just have to be replaced by Obamas Civilian Defense Force, the one as well armed and funded as our military.

Firing police officers is wrong, and the pols allowing this should be run out of town. Govt’s Numero Uno job is to provide protection for the citizens.
Wanna bet there are still street sweepers, librarians and building inspectors still employed? (Yeah, yeah, I know...the street sweepers aren’t doing such a good job on the streets pictured above.)

why not lay off 50% of the bureaucrats, pencil pushers and secretaries? This is the same old sh#t the federal government does.
They shut down parks, passport offices, slow down essentials but never get rid of secretaries, crappy art exhibits, NPR funding, grants for idiotic studies on (insert favorite perversion or liberal cause) or government cars, private jets for congressmen and their families.
I say, good then. Get rid of the cops, let the Beserkers loose and release the dogs... let anarchy rein and when we see a couple of the mayor or council members family lying in the street we can, tsk, tsk..
Just remember to Vote Democrat, cause they'll fix this problem. Just need to tax more rich folk.

Word is that cops (even before the layoffs) wouldn’t go into Camden if they didn’t have to...

How New Jersey Legislature can fix +/-90% of their problems with inner-city violence:
1) Repeal New Jersey’s gun laws.
2) Pre-empt localities from having their own gun laws.
3) Pass ‘Castle Doctrine’ and ‘Self Defense’ laws.
3a) Due to the almost unimaginable severity of the current problems, POSSIBLY have to wait through one or two years of increased violence and murder rates as ‘the wheat separates from the chaff’, so to speak.
4) begin to reap the societal benefits of allowing people to defend THEMSELVES, as crime and violence rates drastically decrease, and decent, hard-working, honest people once again become willing to live and work in these cities.

Camden: 50% black; 43% hispanic; 7% white. The city is a plantation, a museum of Democratic-Socialist nostrums, a cesspool of corruption.
The State of New Jersey can’t fix it. The only thing that can fix it is if the people who live there finally get fed up and fix it themselves.

Good photos of LBJs Great Society there. Don’t it make you proud what our glorious government can do in only 40 years and at a cost of only $10 Trillion. They really have changed the face of America. < /s >

That last set of four looks like a age progression over some years, starting at the upper left and proceeding clockwise.
I'm going to make a prediction. If they keep the number of police down, crime will go down.

Looks like Gary, Indiana.
How did Camden snatch the Title away from Gary and Detroit?
I suppose the “most violent” award is voted on using different metrics than “per capita murders”

I remember Camden from the mid 1960s. Just starting to get bad. There were still polish meat markets to buy great kielbasa, and mom and pop corner stores for a bottle of Frank's soda and a few comic books. Those old row homes in the photos were actually quite nice and roomy. I have a lot of great Christmas memories with family from back then. It started to get bad when my cousins had to run to school and run home again. The black kids would beat them up every chance they got. They would take their money and their shoes. All my relatives got out in the late 1960s. Now Camden looks like Somalia. Gee...I wonder what happened?

Is there such a thing a "too vibrant" a city?
This place looks worse than Mogadishu.

1. I wonder if those houses in the last set were torn down or burned down. It is interesting that one of the homeowners in that street still seems to take some pride in their house and they have even painted it (along with adding the grills to their porch).
2. The mural artist has enough talent to get out of there.
3. One of the odd things I found when I was cleaning out my parent's house was a book on the history of Camden, N.J. I know this isn't important, but who else am I going to tell?
