Eligibility issue : Social Security to conceal numbers links to location

Without addressing questions regarding the apparent assignment of a Connecticut-based Social Security number to President Barack Obama, who reportedly spent his growing-up years in Hawaii and Indonesia, the federal agency now is moving quickly to make certain such questions never come up again about political figures.

The administration is starting down a path that is intended to randomize all future Social Security numbers – a move critics allege is designed to make it impossible to tell where any future Social Security number is issued.

In a notice currently published on the Social Security Administration website, the SSA announces Social Security numbers issued in the future will be randomized starting on or about June 25, 2011.

The Social Security Administration did not respond to WND questions on the issue.

But WND previously reported that Obama currently is using a Social Security number that was issued in Connecticut sometime between 1977 to 1979, even though Obama's earliest employment reportedly was in 1975 at a Baskin-Robbins ice cream shop in Oahu, Hawaii.

Could just be that WND realized it got some facts wrong, and it took down the article to scrub any mistakes. Maybe they did it to include mention of the fact that Social Security originally announced its intention of doing this randomization way back in 2007:

And WND has done this kind of thing before. They ran an article about Kagan being involved in multiple eligibility cases, which was 100% bogus. So the original article suddenly vanished, the link went dead for a while, and WND replaced it with a totally different article on Kagan so as to try to erase their mistake.
