Ready to strike camp, or ready to strike? I guess it depends on which Obama wakes up that morning.

Was that statement cleared with Barry, or is it boilerplate “we stand ready to defend ROK”, etc.

” ‘Ready To Strike’ If Korean Tensions Escalate “

Has our Strategic Alert Level been updated - and under what circumstances does the Theater-Commander have “Weapons Free” authority??

They better keep an eye on Taiwan too. There’s too much ‘look at me’ from North Korea going on. With a weak U.S. president it could be the perfect time for the Chicoms to make a move against Taipei.

The General is truly a “bottom line” kind of guy. He also said:

“On the issue of a possible return of tactical nuclear weapons to South Korea, Schwartz said the issue has not been discussed by the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, but added he would advise Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen to the best of his ability. “The bottom line is, we have substantial capability on the peninsula and in the immediate environments to sustain a very credible deterrent posture,” he said.”

The first quote is a little out of context since it was in response to the question of forces in the area and the interpretation in the opening line is a little misleading.

However, all that said... let the frickin’ UN handle it and let U.S. get out of the way. Seriously, why is it that the world hates us until they are in trouble? This much of being a Libertarian I am in favor of.

NORK are being provocative to orchestrate extortion and to assert the new Imawackjob successor to Imawackjob I. It is a foolish game but not too foolish because the CHICOMS are backing them.

If we have a true interest in the area we should kick the livin’ crap out of them. Only Regan would do that... nothing and forget it or definitive action. He also refused to pay anyone extortion.

I’ll await forming a decision on what to do with NK until Jimmy Carter weighs in. He, of course, will first have to consult with his daughter, Amy. /s

Any strike by US Forces on the NORKS would ascertain the destruction of Seoul and 1/2 of South Korea.

In the end, US and SK would prevail, but the slaughter would be WWII-like.

Only nukes can neutralize the NORKS...a sudden strike in the Capital, all major bases and every 2-3 miles along the DMZ with "small, tactical" nukes.

There are AT LEAST 10,000 MRLS tubes pointed at Seoul with another 5,000 Howitzers...all within range. The damage would be nuke-equivalent...and they could shoot the whole wad in less than an hour and without any tactical or strategic movement of forces.

That said, PERHAPS a non-nuke EMP attack would take out the MRLS systems and most/all their CCC capability along the DMZ. We probably also know where the bulk of their nuke weapons are...assuming they actually have any that won't "fizzle".

Ultimately, this question has to be answered:

Does the "civilized world" have the will to kill 10-20million people to prevent a similar toll of their own?

At some point in the future of the history of the world, the United States needs to stop being Santa Claus and Policeman for the world.

NK attacked SK...not the USA. From what I hear, NK has nearly nothing, can't feed their people...how long could they last with a counterattack?

The problem with the USA getting involved - well the number ONE problem right now is obama - but the big problem is we always just give the enemy a slap on the wrist, when what they need is some teeth knocked out.

The wrist slapping just empowers them - it tells them you're either afraid, or don't know how to fight. But that probably won't come into play with obama, as being the liberal progressive mafia mouse he is, he'll try to buy them off.

That's what most of this is about; NK has learned obama and they are hurting for money...so, it's more like a request for new handout, than an attack.
